Opportunity knocks

I don't think the Avs have ever won when I have done the GDT. Sorry friends. Not that it matters. Avs are so close to truly getting back in the playoff race, you just know they'll blow a 4 point game. Sorry for the plain GDT. Just never enough time recently.

Even worse is that Lehtonen's GAA is hardly worse than Varly's, despite a noticeable Sv% difference. Lehtonen hasn't had the most spectacular year, disappointing to me since I used to view him as an underrated top 10 goalie. I'd love to see him rebound, but I'd rather the Avs leapfrogged Dallas and stayed in front of them so I can't hope for that.

I'm predicting an Avs loss Saturday and a Broncos loss on Sunday. Basically the worst weekend ever.

Florida and Calgary just had a hell of a game, with Calgary loosing in regulation. Avs have a big opportunity this week to jump up in the standing.

LOL! Edmonton is up 5-2 to Chicago right now... WTH???

Duchene is going to score 2 goals, book it. Something about Dallas brings out the best in him. There are 3 teams where Duchene is either PPG or better in his career:

Buffalo, 6 points in 5 career games
Dallas, 21 points in 20 career games
Edmonton, 28 points in 23 career games

If Dutchy couldn't get it going vs the Oilers, he better get it going vs his second most productive team

Time to step up. 5 points out and we have a real opportunity here, so we are going to need our guys to do the opposite of what they normally do in these situations. Focus and actually play like you want it! Help Varly out, don't just stand there letting Sequin and Benn tee off on him. No mistakes here, no blind clears in the defensive zone, no bad penalties, no losing your man, and for the love of god, Duchene and Mack, remember that you are indeed good players! Snap out of it and take all your frustrations out on Dallas. Do it...

Duchene is slowly but surely becoming one of the more frustrating players to watch, so much skill, but sometimes he looks so lost out there you just can't believe that's the same player who can take over games at will.

Injured. He looks weak/slow compared to last 1,5 season's.
