yup last time i saw them in person, i went for some training at a nearby tech company, spent 40 bucks each way on an uber to get to the tank with the other guy i flew up with, and watched the sharks get punked by the Canucks, and hertl blows out his knee and is done for the season.
I'm just stating facts. The Canucks are going to sign Bedard and Celebrini when they hit free agency, also having signed Celebrini's brother who they drafted and the other brother who they will draft in a few years, then they can trade for Luke and Jack Hughes and win 6 straight Stanley Cups with a core of Celebrini, Celebrini, Celebrini, Hughes, Hughes, Hughes, and Bedard who's upset because he doesn't have any hockey siblings and is the odd man out.
Obviously all the Vancouver players will want to play at home in Vancouver and the Hughes brothers will want to be reunited. Because it's just like all those Ontario guys who want to play for the Leafs and that totally happened and led Toronto to a modern dynasty, right?
Elite Prospects' only familial connection given is that he is the second cousin of Troy Ofukany, a total nothing-burger of a pro who put in 4 CHL seasons with Kelowna, Regina, and Red Deer before playing a bunch of inconsequential seasons with tier 3 and 4 minor pro leagues until the early 2010s. Like his career peak was getting called up to the ECHL for 2 games where he picked up a penalty and was a -2 before he went right back down to the old non-junior CHL (Central Hockey League. It folded like 10 years ago) and was never heard from again.
fun fact: The Sharks' current ECHL affiliate, the Wichita Thunder, originated in the CHL before being absorbed by the ECHL when the league went under.
Just caught up on the game, and also excited to see that we broke the SNOGless streak already.
There was another prediction with that score, but it didn't count because the poster had made not just one, but two other predictions earlier in the thread which they didn't disavow.
Congrats @LadyStanley on your first SNOG of the season, and second ever SNOG since I've recorded them!
I forgot that Edmonton actually gave us a 3rd round pick to take Ceci off their hands and all we had to give up in return was our "10th best prospect."
A team in the Sharks situation should always be looking to add more picks for guys on expiring deals that aren't difference makers if they are offered a sufficiently high pick. If nobody offers more than a 3rd, then maybe I look to get him on a short extension for stability's sake.

And near as I can tell, they didn't do anything with whatever the cap space affording by freeing up Walman's salary gave them. It was a straight giveaway of a player that would have been better than some of the other defensemen they kept.
