How awful is Laine's flu that he's been out this long during a crucial stretch?
I really don't get what the big deal is tho lol

If he was MIA or something nobody had seen him for days I'd be like ok yeah that's not good

But he was on the ice practicing a bit just a couple hours ago SEEN with our own eyes

So I mean if he's not ready he's just not ready yet?
It'll obviously be soon
Everybody keeps trying to make this worse than what it is for obvious reasons
But I just don't see why we can't just be happy he's not in a wheelchair or something

Maybe it’s more like: he could play but the team is winning and he’s not at 100% so there’s no rush on either side to throw him in there. Fully recovering from the flu takes as long as dealing with it, so about a month if you had a nasty experience like I did recently.

Aside from the flu, he’s still not at 100% anyway — remember his knee did suffer a sprain (which is a tear) and they elected to not perform surgery. He’s slow as hell on the ice right now. Any excuse to lighten his workload without affecting the team’s competitive performance is good for his long term career (and our odds of retaining him).

My fantasy team needs him.

I suspect that's most people's grievance with the situation

Maybe 7D if Savard is still a risk for re-injury?
Backs are so easy to get jammed up again.
Would prefer a 7th D than 3-4 mins of Pezz.

As for Laine, would have been best if they could have put him on IR and called up someone but I’m guessing he’s suffering an illness that took a turn and went on longer than initially thought. In the end, it did not matter, the team did well in his absence so no rush.

yea there’s been something going around that’s been kicking asses for weeks not days

It's incredible the amount of people I know that caught the bug at the same time.

Pretty sure this is where Laine caught it :

But how do you guys understand this one? Actually possible that Laine suits up tonight? I know its selfish but it sucks to stay up until like 1am just to find out that your favorite player is not playing, for like the 5th game in a row.

And dont get me wrong I really enjoy the Habs. But its just different without Laine, Im a way too new of a Habs fan to fully enjoy the matches without Laine.

Definitely possible if not probable. I cant see him sitting out after taking the warm up and Pezetta (the guy who has been playing for him) skated this morning which is a sign he is sitting.

I’d put the chances at 80% playing, 20% not.
