Good times! I still remember how excited I was to see him play when we drafted him and he was with Belleville doing his spin-a-ramas and everyone was saying that he couldn’t pull those moves in the bigs. Then we called him up right around the playoffs against Pittsburg I think, and there he was. Just being PK. One of my favourite players of all time. His attitude was so refreshing from the stuffed shirts that ran the league.

I remember watching that video of Therrien hammering Subban in the video room. You could feel that it was personal and not that of a coach speaking to one of his players.
Man that pissed me off.
PK's reaction, probably.

Sigh. I am sad. Subban was truly the only player in my 30 years of following this team that made me want watch the games. As in "I have to watch Habs because PK". He brought me out of my seat so many times. Nobody else did that.

Nice clip. Also reminded me of how close the General was with PK.

The best thing you can say about him (and it's absolutely true) is that he was at his best in the biggest games. Super clutch. Even though we lost in OT in game 7 back in 2011... our young blueliner is who got us there. Then he came out and crushed Boston in 2014.

Amazing freaking player who's points actually went up in the posteason. Don't believe me? He had a higher point per game rate in the playoffs with us than Claude Lemieux did.

It boggles my mind that we had two superstars - both of whom were great in the playoffs - and we couldn't add a few players around them to win. You've got a couple of legit superstars and you play DD as your number one.

What a wasted opportunity.

I’ve never heard the bell centre that loud ever again. That goal was insane. I still remember.
My favorite part of that goal was Eller's "Tunnel Vision" How anyone in this fan base ever crapped on either of those guys is beyond my pay grade. A quick check back in the GDT's and you'll find it started Game #1 the following season against the Leafs. :help:

PK's goal against the Bruins after the feed from Eller and Rivet's breakaway goal against the Avs in Theodore's return at the 2 goals that stand out the most to me.

I may be the one at times who knocks posters down about PK, but the man certainly was entertaining and certainly helped this team.

I wish this team had skill to pull off a suby-doo, but I'll take a loss still

“In Montreal, there was never a night off,” Subban told The Canadian Press on Wednesday. “You didn’t have a choice, because the crowd gave you that energy when you didn’t have it. They gave you the belief, maybe, when you didn’t believe that you were still in the game.

“They brought the best out of me, more so than any other opponent that I had or anybody that I played against. They held me accountable, and they really had my back and supported me.”

We constantly talk on here about the pressure of the Montreal market, but PK was someone who not only embraced it, but actively fed off the fanbase. He understands the passion/insanity of the fanbase.

I know he pissed off a bunch of old-school, zero personality types, but its pretty clear looking around the sports landscape that the NHL needs more stars like Subban.

💯%
He should never have been traded.
