Appleton misses a catchable pass leading to an icing. He over skated the puck at the defensive blueline but managed to chip it out.

Had a nice drive down the wall but, you guessed it, fell down. Then showed some balls by driving the net. Next time bring the puck.

I'd call that an even shift.

First period: 5 shifts, 4 even, one bad.
Did he do something to actually help the team? Not that I saw.

Like there, not necessarily hurting the team but not really adding anything. Though I will say if he won that battle at center and dumped it in the Jets wouldn't have gotten scored on.
