Has Lindholm underwhelmed though?

He’s basically on pace to match his production from last season.

I do agree with you on the Zadorov contract.
Zadorov is 2 goals, 8 assits and +7, the guy play everywere in the Dcorp, top, middle and bottom pairing, play PK, hit like a truck, let the gloves down, kick ass, step up for his team mates, he drives away f***ers like Rassmussen, Domi, Mcabb who are quiet with him on the ice, far from perfection but he is a good addition and contract is not that bad for me...

What Kind Of Trade?

Nibbling around the edges, as usual, or beginning the rebuild that should have begun 7 years ago.

You tell me.

They can retool as they always do. They don't have to descend to the basement.

Yet, again, as long as those two are in charge..

Their best bet to retool and improve is trading McAvoy and getting back a very good Forward, decent RD and a 1st round pick that turns into a Lotto pick. That's unlikely
with Kreider injured and Buffalo (Thompson) is the Division, so that's not happening.

McAvoy for Trouba and Zegras, which I can already see bows and arrows being launched...lol.

I watched the last two periods. Second was none too good. Third was obviously better, but man is this team slow. Barzal has more speed than our entire team. Coyle was bad. He struggles against the Isles for some reason. Marchy was bad as well.

Otoh, I thought the d pairings were better and Zadorov played well. Succko's line changes continue to confound though.
And strangely i remember him getting a hat trick against the Isles last year as I was at that game.

McAvoy has to return a ton more than that. Clearly McAvoy cannot be a pillar alone, we will see when Lindholm returns and Montgomery gone...

But the Bruins can do much better than bottom pairing Trouba and mid tier and overrated Zegras! If the Bruins will pick a direction it has to be contender or rebuild not this treading water.

next to the bench
I am looking forward to the return of Hampus.

The D is struggling worse than I have seen in many years

Charlie Mac is usually good but IMO is overrated here by some. He stopped developing a couple of years ago and has reached his potential. I remember Tuukka giving him (by the bench) the stink eye and saying some not so nice stuff to him a few years ago...more than once. @GahdenRinkRat will back me up on this.

What would You prefer for Marchand to do, dump the puck into the corner and go for a line- change?

That’s 3 on 3 hockey, Korpi needed to come up with a big save and didn’t. You can’t blame Marchand for having a grade a scoring chance. Their goalie came up big ares didn’t. They capitalized on their scoring chance we didn’tu.
I prefer he scored

Behind the B caught up with Hampus. He pops a bag of popcorn and watches the B's with his dog, and folds down a surface to practice stick handling in between periods.

His return will help, but it's actually the replacement LD's (Wotherspoon, Oesterle) I feel most confident to make the simple, safe, smart play.

Yes, it seems obvious the league is really trying to "let 'em play" more often than not. All around the league you see games with very few (or any) penalties called. It's a real benefit to the Bruins, who suck at both PP and PK. If the Islanders didn't challenge the Bruins first goal and give them a power play, the B's probably win that game.

Seems like they've entirely cut out the interference call on defensemen at the blue line, who try to slow up the forward who dumps the puck in.

At one point, it seemed you'd get called if you breathed on the forward, now they seem to be letting a lot go.

Mr. Make-Believe

The happy genius of my household
Zadorov is +7 which is second on the team despite playing with basically every single d-man on the back end.

Mcavoy is +6

Then every other regular d-men are in the minus, lol.

Shitting on Zadorov is hilarious.
Zadorov is precisely the guy I thought we were getting when we signed him.

There’s a lot I like about his game.

There are also many times a game where he leaves his brain on the bench when he hits the ice.

If the team was more successful, the errors would be easier to forgive and we’d be able to more easily focus on the positives he brings.

Is the overall negativity primarily directed at Zadorov, or the decision to sign him when the flaws on the roster elsewhere should have been addressed? And like or not, he’s going to associated with the Lindholm signing as a package deal which overall has been disastrous.

Sure it’s a little unfair. But it’s also not without warrant.

I do agree with you on the Zadorov contract.

I think so. Yes Lindholm's around his mark from last season but the hope was that last season was a lowly outlier. In his 5 prime years with the Flames he was much closer to being a PPG player than the .500 we have currently, and he was usually a plus player even on teams that weren't always that good. At only age 30, and with the contract he was given, Sweeney was surely hoping for something much closer to his peak Calgary performance than what we've got so far. On top of that, he and Pasta don't seem to gel at all, which is a problem when you're both supposed to be top liner players, all the more so on a team with a lack of other top 6 talent.

I don't think Lindy's been terrible. He competes well and is defensively responsible, has made a few timely contributions here and there. But his operating window seems too narrow and his production and overall impact aren't enough for a guy with his contract and performance record. I'm not shocked by it, or entirely disappointed, but yeah, underwhelmed is definitely the word IMO.
