Tons of teams beyond us would love our position right now. Ask sens rags flyers etc. I say were doing a solid B grade so far in terms of standings we have a decent record with all that has happened with sway being a late season signing and firing monty . Its actually remarkable were still competitive. Win tomorrow and man does it swing stronger for a wildcard berth and hopefully higher from there.

Yes it will take a dent. Must win tomorrow it's a huge 2 points.
So if they lose this “must win” tomorrow? I see you use this term a lot. Then they end up losing said “must win” game.

Do you think this team is a serious threat, and can you answer that legitimately without a rainbow and butterflies take?

You have to factor in the swiss cheese D and the uptick in penalties this season.
He's looked terrible all season regardless. Soft goals can't always be blamed on d. At this point we need to hope he's like Brobrovski. Look like a dead contract and then within a year come back to life and win a cup. Because right now that contract is looking like an albatross

This team has cornered the market of 3rd and 4th line players.
Top 6 are suspect added to that.
Defense has become porous and our goaltending isn't
baling them out 98% of the time.
Biggest problem is the lack of Cap space and longevity of
the contracts that they've handcuffed themselves with.
Only Pasta, Marchand (and Kastelic/Geekie) have shown signs of life.
Right now I don't think I would miss any Bruin besides the 3 above but
if Marchand wanted to go for a Cup to a contender and re-sign here on July
1st I would do it.
Pasta has nobody to play with at his talent level.
Will they be able to get him a Center who can help him?
This is looking like a basket case of a team.

Any team who gets in the playoff round is a serious threat. I had the cats out after we beat alex lyon in the first 2 games. Then bob shows up and they knockout historic point regular season and they go to finals. Playoffs are a lottery my friend where twists turns goalposts injuries and a Michael ryder goalie glove hand save can take to you the that shiny silver mug.

The Bruins' power play(I won't acknowledge the second one, which lasted twenty seconds, thanks to Lindy).

Yea but ullmark wasnt good in playoffs. Look at his record and I think Donny hit a homerun on that deal.
How on earth do you think that was a homerun? We took back what was consider an terrible goalie with term. Got a very late 1st and a 4th liner (who I'll admit has been better than expected). The first should essentially be to take Korpi so it's Kastelic for Ullmark which is terrible value.

My expectations are lower than yours. Be reasonably competitive and make the playoffs so I will have something to watch and don’t lose to the Leafs .

He’s giving them quality starts at a far lower clip than he has his whole career. He used to be 63%, now you’re bragging about 53%. You can be fine with your $8.25 mill Elvis Merzlikens, I have higher standards. When a guy gets paid that much I generally don’t want their game to crater immediately after (and that’s what going from 4th to 75th in Saves Above Expected is…behind largely the same personnel too)

I'm not bragging about anything. I know you want to try and paint me as some pompom waiving Swayman fanboy in order to discredit anything I say, but I'm not. Is Swayman playing to my expectations? No, I expect him to play like Vezina caliber goalie and he hasn't. I guarantee you he's not playing to his expectations either. Is this team floundering because Swayman isn't playing like he did in last years playoffs? No. You also point the the 4 to 75 all you want but it's means nothing without context. What I mean by that is of the current top 32 goalies in GSAE, roughly 20% have played less than 10 games. Freddy Anderson is ranked #15 and he's only played 4 games. Sure it helps your point to leave that kind of noise in to drive numbers in your favor, but it's being disingenuous.

Am I disappointed with Swaymans numbers this year? Yup and I'm sure he is too. Am I worried, no. A disappointing Swayman still gives you a chance to win. He'll get himself on the right track again. His numbers this season are a massive outlier compared to previous 150+ games in his career.

With that, I'm out on this conversation because its going to be an endless loop, and its already taken more of my time than it should have. Enjoy the rest of your night

Korpi has turned out to be a capable backup they paying a portion of his contract too . Kastelic has been a foundational piece and that Dean Leternaeu kid might be something solid too. Dont forget Donny was put in the corner where linus controlled his rights . Under the circumstances Don did well especially when linus was snagged as a free agent paying no assets and turned into this nice package. Excellent asset management there.

Yup.
Call up Poitras, Lysell and/or Merk

Give them a couple games. It can’t be much worse than what Coyle, Freddy, Wahlstrom, or I guess anyone really has been doing

Please trade Carlo also.

I agree he hasn't stolen many games this year ( 1 or 2 come to mind) but games like the Caps and Rangers this past week the B's win last season by a goal or two.
In hindsight might have been better to give Korpisalo the Rangers game. Playing Swayman in the hopes he gets into a groove doesn’t seem to be working.

When you consider they couldn't resign both Sway and Ullmark and not many GM's wree going to bailout Donny the return wasn't horrible.

We’re watching very, very shitty goaltenders outdo Swayman head to head. Yes, there’s blame on the Bruins offense, but my god, Swayman isn’t living up to 1/3rd of his contract.

But Sway or Korpi aren't dueling against the other teams netminders our inept offense has been.
No one would be bringing up if we won 4-2 .

They are by no means guaranteed a playoff spot. Not all teams behind them currently are going to keep losing as they have some real scorers. Not to mention the games in hand.
Don't make the playoffs, stop the pain and all the false hope.
