It's almost comical how ineffectively he uses his size. Smaller guys are constantly taking the puck from him with ease. He could at least drop the gloves more often to justify his lineup spot. I usually agree with or can understand Warsofsky's lineup decisions but this one makes no sense to me.

I actually disagree, I think he’s okay at protecting the puck and creating havoc in the offensive zone… when he’s on and not in his head (or whatever causes him to be so inconsistent). When he’s playing hard and skating, I think he’s actually really good - big dude with soft hands. But he’s just very inconsistent.

100%. I had the same thought. Keep Askarov away from this defense. At this point, I’m pretty sure he’s a better passer and stick-handler than everyone in that core other than Liljegren.

Me too, my fear is the forwards won’t have the puck for 90% of the game because no one can get the puck out of their zone.
