GDT: Game #41: San Jose vs Utah HC - 7:00pm MST - Utah16, Arizona61

JMO If Schmaltz does not cut through the top of the crease it's a good goal.

Yeah. I just concur with the broadcast crew that the only reason Georgiev wasn't able to get back into position in time was because of the Sharks player that followed Schmaltz through. His stick looked like it got caught up on whoever that was, on the overhead replay.

I was just thinking "now would be a great time for a penalty" :sarcasm:

You've got a guilty conscience. I want even thinking of anyone in particular. Just liked how it flowed.
Not at all. Hayton has to be Utah's 3C, nothing higher. He will be very valuable at that position. Playing above that he is not. He is what he is. Wishing he "breaks out" is done. Time to move on and try to get a 1C or a high 2C has to be BA's priority. We still need high end talent, and we will have to give up a player or two that we don't want to, but will have to. Easier said than done though, but there is no way Hayton can be 1C entering next year.

I agree. I stopped thinking Hayton was going to break out at least a season and a half ago. He'd be great on the third line. I like his hustle and grind but he's weak on offense. Even surrounded by Keller and Schmaltz.

We've been looking for one for almost 20 years. 1C typically have to be drafted because they rarely get traded. Pretty tall order to expect BA to land one all of a sudden in this next offseason. For now, our best hope seems to be Cooley. But...

Last season Smith, CA, and BA all agreed defense needed to be priority number 1 of the offseason. It might just be a top line C this coming offseason. I wouldn't be surprised if BA has already been looking and has already planted some of those seeds like with the Sergachev trade.
