I think I've figured it out.

The plan is they go down by 2 early in order to simulate playing against a more conservative playoff style hockey as the opposing team tries to shut down your comeback.

They then see how fast they can take the lead back, and then try and hold it for as long as they can, to prepare to play teams with that extra desperation that will likely be the minimum you see in the post season.

The goal is to end the game at this stage. Adding to a lead late is okay however.

Any other outcome results in a team wide bag skate.

It's the perfect training ground for the post season!

These guys aren’t even playing well but they are getting every break. Like the polar opposite of the first 15 games
what breaks? The offside goal? Because Edm has had a million go against them during this streak but they’ve still found a way. Lol

Great period but a little loose with the puck management towards the end of the period. Seattle should be gassed at the end of a load trip, get an early one in the 3rd and break their spirit.

Also, not surprising to see Kane more effective now that he's playing with skilled players. He just never fit on the 3rd line.

They are making mistakes, but supporting each other really well. Everyone seems to know where they need to be and it causing them to keep possession longoer. So even when they are not sharp they can at least hang with good teams. With the elite skill...sucks for the other team.

I want to say imagine what the 2nd line would be like if we had someone like Kane or Guentzel, but I think we have to get used to the idea that these are the types of wingers we are going to have to get used to. Though I do think we trade our first this year for help...either cap help or player.

Rambling, sorry. Vape hit hard

I'd love to get Guentzel on this team. He'd be awesome with any of our best 3 centers.

Leafs were up 4-2 and it's now 4-3 in the second intermission.

I want the Toronto implosion to continue but it's still tough to cheer for Calgary.
It's such a dilemma lol

I decided that the Flames need to lose. A lot of teams behind the Oilers need to get kicked down a notch

He has more confidence shooting on his backhand than his forehand this season.

It’s weirdddd.
It's also, for whatever it's worth, a lack of puck luck, shots just missing or getting stopped, passes not quite reaching or getting deflected.

He'll break out, you can feel it coming.

Also Skinner has been solid again tonight
