It’s just the natural path to success. You can’t go from top 5 pick to Stanley Cup winner. The in between may suck but it’s the rite of passage from bottom dweller to being a contender.

Habs D is so much better than it was a couple of months ago. Guhle and Carrier are a great pair. Xhekaj is cleaner and smarter. Matheson is playing very responsibly. We're not being pinned in our zone. What a difference!

Oh... and there's this Hutson kid who's okay.

this would've been a disaster in previous seasons but at this point you have to try and make a go of it so i won't be too bothered if we finish in that dreaded 9 spot. I'm loving what I see this last ten or so

100% we're only really in no man's land if this happens every year. The next few years are about improving and barely missing the playoffs this season would be a massive improvement especially if younger players are the focal point and we have more coming through the pipeline

Matheson is playing a great level of play right now, I didn't see this coming.

He & Hutson have been great together. Who'd have thought that? He's also been much better on RD than LD. He's been solid & limiting mistakes in the D zone.
