If Laine can't play I'd call up Owen Beck and put him in Heineman's spot, and then put Heineman on Dach's wing. I'm curious to see how Beck looks in the NHL and from reading the Laval threads it sounds like he's the straw that stirs the drink on a lot of nights.
Seriously, if Laine isn't good to go, please call someone up!!! Nothing against Pezz but it's time to move on to other things..

We play 3 games against Ottawa before the end of the year, so our faith might be in our hands.
Habs have to win more games against the eastern Conference teams, especially against Ottawa, Boston and Toronto.

If this is really the flu, I think we should expect to see Laine back in the lineup now.

I can't remember someone missing more than a few days with the flu in the nhl world.
…. Or some mental problems coming back ?

Correct me if wrong but they are 1-1 against Toronto, and 1-0 against Ottawa so far.

They are 0-2 against Boston but I think those were Cayden primeau games.

Give this one to Dobes, extra day of rest for Monty. I'm sure they'll do the opposite.
Probably.
I wanted Dobes last night but my reasoning was faulty given how Guhle set the tone.
The team started with an edge regardless of who was between the pipes.
The kid probably gets the road game again.

Boston and that Leafs games are the only ones the Habs lost against the Atlantic teams...and it needs to remains that way.

Boston: 0-2-0 (1 more game)
Buffalo: 2-0-0 (2 more games)
Detroit: 2-0-0 (2 more games)
Panthers: 1-0-0 (3 more games)
Ottawa: 1-0-0 (3 more games)
Tampa: 1-0-0 (2 more game)
Toronto: 1-1-0 (2 more games)

The Boston, Ottawa, Detroit and Tampa games are 4 pts games from now on.

Hopefully Laine is in, Dobes in net, and savard back on the third pair.

I don't hate on OV but I would love to see him get shut down so we don't contribute to the record haha

Newhook vs Heineman on that 2nd line needs to be investigated.

Laine better be back from his sick leave for this one.
Laine should have had enough time to be over his flu or whatever, but just speculation since we have no details.

No announcement by the Habs as of yet.

While we are on this heater.....I want to discuss the next games early!

The team has a few days to rest...finally.

Time to travel to Washington to face Ovechkin and his Capitals.

First let's start strong here with our boy Lane? He is steamrolling towards the Calder. Playing like our best damn player as a rookie. Rejoice I tell ya. Rejoice!

And how about our forward group as of late???

Suzuki = A+
Caufield = A+
Dach = B+
Slaf = B
Laine =

We need our big dog back!

How about the rest of the D boys? All of them are wearing their big boy pants out there....Guhle in particular with the stare down!

Post-Game Talk: - Wattanite at the Bell Centre, Habs win in ...

And finally......who gets the start on the first of back to backs. I think we give it to Monty and let Dobes play the Stars on home ice Saturday.

Let's keep riding this high boys!!!!

Id like to see Dobes play in front of the home folks this time. It seems like coach puts out Dobes in the more difficult road match up, so he probably goes Dobes in Washington. Me personally, I believe Dobes > Sam.

This “flu” sounds fishy to me. I wonder if they just don’t want to tell us about his upper body injury from the Columbus game? I still can’t believe Laine gave Columbus more incentive to win and to hurt him. Didn’t seem like a smart idea to me.

I believe Dobes will be better than Sam. Currently though...we need a greater sample size. I prefer Dobes at home as well. Either way though...should be fun!

I'd go Dobes against Washington. Any sort of break Monty can get right now is good for him.

Agree with the sentiment that Laine should be back, and if he isn't something is up rather than the flu. I suspect Savard has a bit of a nagging thing on the go and may sit until it looks like we need him.

The long layoff is annoying until you realize how many frickin back-to-backs the league is jamming us into.
