Bruins issues are DeBrusk gone and Pastrnak's lack of goal scoring. Its a significantly
different team with those two offense drivers out (#74) and degraded (#88). Of course #1play is part of it also but the first 2 are primary driver. Was ****ing stupid not signing #74 last year.
Assuming he was willing to be signed, I agree completely.

It's not fair to pin it on him though as lots are doing .The roster is littered with bottom 6 types. And Yes definitely injured but gutting it out.

I'm not "blaming" #88 AT ALL. It's simple math to see where the missing goals went and its team impact. Every team has guys that have down years for various legitimate reasons and unfortunately for Boston its #88 having this type of year.

I watch a load of games and nobody gives up more stupid odd man rushes then Boston .But yes some scoring would certainly alleviate some mistakes. Anyone blaming Swayman for that loss should go watch broomball or ringette.
Agreed Swayman didn’t lose that game for them. But he didn’t win it, either. With his paycheque, I want to see him win some for them.

You are overrating DeBrusk's significance.

He scored at the same pace as Frederic and Geekie last season. Tied for 6th in scoring on the team.

They miss Heinen more than Jake.
They miss BOTH of those guys.

Surprisingly enough, Shattenkirk on the PP is another player that they haven't been able to replace either.

You are no going to win very many games if you score one goal.
Goaltending is not the issue.
With our PP not improving and no secondary scoring, it will be a long year.
Our dee has scored only twelve goals this season, that is another area we need to improve.
The lowly Sabres dee have 19 goals.

Frederic's pointless streaks this season:
Five
Six
Eight
Presently...Eleven games

Some questions:
Why is he still on the third line?
I thought he was the resident tough guy?
Why do I get notices on my phone that the Bruins are going to make a big trade regarding Frederic?
A trade involving Frederic... that's considered a "BIG" trade?
Do I need a new phone?
Instead of calling the BRUINS 2 bottom lines 3 & 4, they should be called 4A & 4B.

They lack forward depth. It was obvious at the beginning of the year. It's magnified with the fact that Pasta is obviously hurt and Marchand is a year older. As for the D/G. They started the year real ugly. I think they have been improving, but still need a change. Unfortunately, they have to deal with a "learning" Lohrei and a regressing Carlo.
I hope Sweeny realizes this year is lost. But he probably needs to go all in again (with little capital he has) to save his job.

You are right no way should Pasta be moved, unless it is a offer you cannot refuse. I do think the time has come for a for some pieces to be moved, we all have our opinions who should go and who should not, but lets be honest something needs to be done, whether we like the moves or not, add some pieces and hopefully they will jell with what is left. I would not take anyone off the table to be moved and that includes anyone on the Providence roster. The offense on this team is horrendous and embarrasing.

We share the same taste, has not won a game for this team this year. The offense is terrible, how many games do you expect to win when scoring 0-to 1 goal, and a shootout is when you score 2.
They should have kept the goalie they sent to Ottawa, at least he could score:help:
In the last 2 games Swayman gave up 2 goals in each game. In the last 2 games the BRUINS' offense scored 1 goal in each game.
Definitely get rid of Swayman and keep the offense.

I think it is.

Pasta is absolutely the number 1 reason the Bruins offense is so bad compared to last season.
That isn't my point whatsoever. Has nothing to do with not having #88 on team.
#88 scored 40+ goals with basically same PP group last year. My point is they have lost at least 5-6 points because of the missing goals of #74\#88. This s\b who they are given those 2 players missing production.

Zacha (21) and Coyle (25) both had more goals than DeBrusk (19) did last season. Freddy (18) and Geekie (17) and Heinen (17) were pretty close while all being better players than Jake in general.

Bruins aren't losing games because they don't have DeBrusk. But the traffic here would be much heavier if Jake was still around playing at his usual level for the B's.

Funny how when so many other BRUINS are playing below their capabilities only Pasta gets to have "he's injured" on so many posts.

The issue with Pasta's decline in scoring this year is primarily due to the PP. He's scoring at about 25% of the rate he did last year. 5 on 5 he's been decent, not great.

I don't put that entirely on him. He's the only guy who's a real threat to score on the PP and teams are keying on that on the PK. Yeah, he's been his usual sloppy self with the puck, but that's nothing new. You can definitely tell its frustrating him.

It's very difficult to key on a player when down a man.

I agree they miss both Heinen and Jake. Even if Jake wasn’t scoring, he still had speed to back the other team up. Numerous 3 on 2’s coming out of our end yesterday looked slow to start and no one wanted to carry. They passed unnecessarily when they had straight ahead speed.

If Freddy ever scores another goal, immediately trade him. I'm shouldn't be mean to Freddy, since there's so many Freddy level players on this team.
He had an excellent game yesterday. He looked involved the entire time. I definitely noticed him.

I'll only trade pasta for a top 3 pick that's it.
I would only trade Pasta for multiple roster players. We have a lot of prospects that used to be picks. Many don’t pan out. You need someone who could play now. Ottawa would never do the Espo trade, much less this one, but a Pasta and Sway for Ullmark and Brady T would be awesome for us. Likely would have to add a sweetener.

Sway does not have to worry he has the big contract and even if he never proves to be a great goalie he will still collect the big bucks. DS made a big mistake and should have arranged a bridge deal or moved on.
That’s not how most hockey players are wired they’ll beat themselves up more than anyone else will and if anything his confidence will take the hit..

He needs to better but why is this a conversation after last nights game cause he didn’t clear the puck out ? You do realize he also kept us in that game too.
