Ned would go on to spend life covering up the events that occurred at the Tower of Joy
Was Ned really able to best the best swordsman in the land, Sir Arthur Dayne at the Tower of Joy, even with assistance of Howland Reed?
Why were they even fighting? Jami Lannister had already slain The Mad King & Robert Baratheon had killed Rhaegar at the Trident. Ned's posed no danger to his sister, who was giving birth to John Snow inside the tower at the time. Further Howland Reed was in a known relationship with Dayne's sister Ashara. The two had fallen in love after the Tournament at Harranhall when the Mystery Knight appeared as the Knight of the Laughing Tree.
Why did Ned return the Sword of the Morning to its ancestral home in Starfall? Why weren't the Dayne's upset Ned had murdered their brethren, but rather welcomed him with open arms and then go on to name their heir "Edric "Ned" Dayne, after Ned?
Jojen Reed: "When I told my father about your father, for the first time in my life, I saw him cry."
Bran Stark: "Your father is Howland Reed. He saved my father's life during the rebellion."
Jojen Reed: "Your father told you about the rebellion? Mine never did."
