Someone needs to give Pickard the mana of life.
Can I interest you in Skinner instead?

100% we should have got a more reliable #3. With such rocky goaltending it’s a joke to not have some sort of contingency plan.

It’s kind of sad. The team looked so happy to finally get some half reliable goaltending. They were over the moon with Pickard. Now it’s back to dud goaltending. A guy incapable of pointing the finger at himself despite being the worst performing goalie in the playoffs. Even Pickard admits he can be better and he’s 6-0. Imagine how annoying that would be.

Just look at the players faces. They know he’s ass just as much as we do.
When it all said and done:
Pickard 6-0
Skinner 0-6

I still answered Oilers because hope never dies.

But god damn, I do not feel good about us going forward.

Honestly, I was thinking of saying we should run Hill in retaliation for Picks, but he's been so rancid I actually don't want a different Vegas goalie. Maybe we should dress Max Jones just for him to run the backup sitting on the bench.
Can Max Jones play goalie?

I don't think this is gonna end well with Pickard out long term. Clearly this is Oiler management's fault for putting the team in this position relying on a goaltender whose technical game and in-game mental state visibly collapsed this year, and now the backup option might be out long term. Oiler players know it too, they play like panicked chickens in front of Skinner and are noticeably scared to push the offense with him in net.

The team wide deflation when he let in those two goals in the first period was depressing to watch.

I’d say it bad news that the guy who is listed as day to day has already been announced as out the day before the game. If he really was day to day they’d be waiting to see how he felt in the warm up before making the final decision.
Knees are tricky. They don’t usually just get better overnight…they tend to take a long time to heal.

I think Collin Delia or Oliver Rodrigue should get the nod.
Can't go with Skinner again cause his relation with the other players is totally broken.
If Knob put Skinner in again, then they will get what they deserve.....

Skinner is historically bad in the 2024 playoffs. The Oilers bring him back in 2025 and he sucks in the regular season. They stick with him and he rewards them with a historically bad 2025 playoffs. They are saved by his unheralded backup stepping in and winning six straight games. The backup gets injured and Skinner comes back, only to play worse than ever. On yeah, this is burning two years of the primes of two all-time greats on this nonsense.

Only this franchise. This is too stupid to happen anywhere else.

Pretty simple formula, they need a game 5 LA series type performance. Completely control play, dominate possession, high energy, give them nothing. That or score at least 5. The team is capable of it, hopefully they rise to the occasion. There is no excuse for them not to come out with the energy they had in game 5 of the LA series, just take control and don’t let up.
The problem is they can easily have that game. Go up 2 or 3 goals. The problem is stu will have hos moment. Let in a back breaking goal and give vehas hope while killing every oiler on the bench while start to ask them selfs what's the point nonmatter how we perform the goalie will keep letting vegas back in this

The only question left is how long it takes Knoblauch to pull him.

We’re not beating the Knights with Skinner in net. Apart from letting in frequent stinkers, the team plays scared when he’s in net.

Yay Colin Delia. Ugh.
