Well, it's the Pens and as likely a lineup that won't be forechecking the hell out of Montreal's young D.

Might see Caufield getting some scoring opportunities.

Personally, I don't see Slafkovsky producing all that much with Dvorak and Gallagher. He's not a complementary player for those two.

I'd like to see Slafkovsky with Dach and Monahan, personally. Dadonov can play with Dvorak and Slafkovsky as a sort of tatar on that line.

GO HABS GO!

Dadonov out, Pitlick or Pezzetta in, please

Personally, I'd have Hoffman out too and both Pitlick & Pezz in, but for some reason MSL seems to love the guy.

Petry had an awful last year with us, but overall was fun to watch & did a lot of great things, so hopefully he's not booed (too badly). I expect Montreal to have some sort of thank-you presentation for him.

It was an absolute steal of a trade out of Edmonton from Bergevin. Too bad Matheson is out, but it looks like he'll be a good replacement.

Oh yeah, Poehling returns too.

Really don't know what happened to Petry last year because before that he gave it his all to the team. Last year, play aside, he wouldn't give a shit about the team and got selfish by yelling at them and doing nothing when Monty got run over. I can excuse a bad year, and hell even the yelling at teammates happens, but seeing your goalie get run over and you choose to ignore it tells you all you need to know. That shit infuriated me, and I think it pissed off HuGo too. I think there was more to it than family concerns.

Anyone but Pezetta for me , He was so useless this training camp. Not combating at all , feel like he thinks his 4th line spot was a given.

I'd easily play Drouin over both Dadonov and Hoffman at this point.

Can the RBC patch, help us to another victory?
Not likely.................this one could hurt guys, the Pens just spanked TB.

Pens are not a big physical type team. They do skate very well but so do we. I feel like we got a glimmer of hope against the style of game the Pens play (can't say this with a straight face)

It's a shame Petry left on a low-note. He was one of the best RHD in the league; the only caveat was he blanked out when the games didn't matter or the team sucked.... which was the story last season.

He's the perfect complement to the Pens' core. I can see him having a great season with them.

Interesting game and I think a big one early in the season. Whatever the outcome I think it will set the tone on how the season will look like.

You win this and maybe we see a bit of a improvement from last year with a 2-2 record to start the season. You lose this and I think we are heading towards a season similar to last year.

Seeing more secondary scoring like the first game instead of relying only on Suzuki and Caufield would be reassuring.

I hope the fans give Petry a nice ovation....he was a good player for the Habs for many years.
They’ll show a video, they will give him a nice hand. And then booh the shit out of him, like the crowd does to every ex-player coming back. Same stuff for all.

Getting booed by this crowd should be seen as a sign of respect, TBH. Crosby gets booed.

Not expecting a win. Pitts is starting the season like champs. I expect a loss. I want more than one goal by the locals, though. A slug fest would be cool.

I feel like he was much better after the coaching change last year.

Beofre that, he looked like he had checked out, like much of the team before the switch.

I predicted 4-1 caps last game with Ovechkin finally getting on the board. I thought I nailed it but Ovechkin hit the post on an empty net late.... Also had a goal waived off in the first period.

For this one, I'm thinking 4-2 Pens.
