It is crazy that they have more shots in the first period than they had some games. And against the best team in the league.
That 1st period the Wings had the kind of swagger that makes the hottest sorority chick practice kissing the 2d hottest one in front of you before she does her thing and then makes you a sandwich.

Can it last?

Not really. Stevie hired Fester, so it's his fault.

In fact, he owes us an apology for one year of really shitty coaching, and missing the playoffs.
nah. steve gave a promising assistant coach a chance, gave him the personnel, didn't meddle, gave him enough opportunity to work it out, pulled the plug before the season was toast. i can't fault him for any of that

That set play by Larkin firing it off the end boards to a streaking Raymond to beat that icing and get a shot off - was something you would never see the boys pull off under previous coaching

The caved the Jets in that period. Won't last all game, so stay disciplined, and stick to frustrating their D 200 feet from your net

This is the best period of hockey I’ve seen the wings play in the Seider era. Considering the opponent
Difference of being outshot 2 to 1 and out shooting 2 to 1.
Lol at Copp for not being able to take the puck away from someone without a stick.
It was hilarious. How did he manage it? He made one unbelievable pass though. I was is it really Copp?
everyone in the red wings downfall thread owes steve yzerman an apology
What for? Needed 3-4 months to see what the problem was?

I was never keen on hiring a collegiate goalie as head coach, especially because Blash was also a collegiate goalie.

Defensive boring shell game. Not to mention that story about how Fester wanted to bench Kuch. He really knows how to demotivate players to the point of uselessness.

Not saying we’re going to win this game. We probably won’t (shhhhhhh)

But Jesus H Murphy Derek Lalonde is the worst coach this team has had.

To be fair, the Wings are probably the most motivated team in the league right now, and that is about the most difficult opponent mid-season.
Did you see that pass by Copp? I couldn't believe it was him.

What is big Buff up to these days? I love watching his hits on youtube. He was one dense motherf***er. And not in the disparaging way but in the "he's clearly made of concrete and lead" kind of way.

yeah that was one guy I always wished we could pick up -- in his younger years, before he smoked a ton of mary jane and ate everything

if I recall correctly he "retired" while still a serviceable player, just up and quit one day, I think all of the playing and practicing was harshing his mellow

I thought he had some lingering ankle injury and things got a bit contentious with the Jets.
