Out of the 20 guys on today’s roster I would be shocked if at least one of them didn’t have an adverse reaction after their vaccines yesterday.

I know everyone is different and anecdotal evidence but after my vax I had a 102 fever / chills the next day. From what I’ve read and heard this is less common but not really rare.
I'm 60, and got my 1st yesterday. Woke up feeling like I had an abundance of alcohol last night (in which I didnt) AND my equilibrium was severely off, and almost fell trying to put my pants on....... No temp. but didnt wanna drive in that condition. Therefore, an unexpected day off, and feeling better as the day rolls along. Perfect timing for game, but wanting a quick nappy nap, so I can give 100% rooting effort.

Anecdotal, but I know someone who had Covid about a year ago and then was recently vaccinated and was hit hard by the vaccine with fever etc. I didn't have Covid and just had a sore arm with the first dose. Who knows?
I had the flu shot last year and my arm was sore for a week..this year never had an itch or ache from the flu shot ....go figure .

Might be first game i miss this season.

stuck at hospital with an inflammated gallblader due to get removed any hour.

thank god for morphine.

LGR, win for me
You better believe that. Some things NEED that major help t9 get y9u through. IDC what any9ne says, our military boys used it after getting shot. I never got shot, but am making up for it now.

Yup. I'm thrilled to have the vaccines, but this is one of the drawbacks of a vaccine being developed so quickly (1 year is an absurdly short period of time). They are still trying to figure out how long the protection even lasts, and the initial trial group only got vaccinated 6 months ago, so any long-term impact is still unknown. With no detailed trials showing the types and frequency of side effects, it all falls down to anecdotal info. I'd heard that if you had Covid before, the first dose of the Moderna hits you like a truck, but the second isn't bad at all. That matches my own experience.
yeah, said buddy had Covid a few months ago, and that was his first dose. I've had both doses of Pfizer, never had covid, and I had zero side effects

Knock on wood....I was supposed to have mine out 37 years ago....I spent a week in hospital as it was infected bad...fried chicken and a beer filled weekend of partying and women will do that even at 21 yrs old . I was so sore it took me a long time to get out of the bed and to the hospital .I was sent home for Christmas holidays and was supposed to go back and have it out in the Winter . A friend of my dad's... both of them farmers...gave me two huge honking pills that he gave to his cows for whatever reason and told me to take them....and I did LOL....and I never had a problem after...knock on wood...it is still working but I avoided the KFC after that.....good luck bud in your op...

My wife and I had both Moderna vaccine's and only had slightly sore arms. We are seniors. Didn't hear of any bad reactions from our senior friends either.
I am hopeful that these professional athletes are all in the same boat.
And I got a Phizer shot, was told that was the "best and more potent" shot. Hmmm, based on side effects, dont doubt him.

I gotta feeling i'm going to be very angry with Quinn tonight...
I stopped going in with expectations

I'm thinking the Rangers could play that same brand of run-and-gun hockey the rest of the way, not listening to the coach, and maybe make the playoffs on a longshot. Then they would get destroyed in playoff hockey. Then Quinn would be blamed, especially here on this platform, for the early exit.

The guy can't win. No matter what he does he gets crucified here. I think he's doing just fine and the team is right on track. Slow and steady wins the race. I want a cup.

There are no drawbacks whatsover to the quick turnaround time. It makes us safe while they continue to investigate the details. It's one of the most astounding accomplishments in medical history in such a short time, while not even needing to inject us with a virus. It marks the beginning of a new era in vaccines. We are insanely lucky to have it.

There is one drawback; the flaming assholes who won't take it who also refuse to take precautions. They are prolonging the outbreak and their actions are playing a role in the disease having time to mutate. The longer it takes to get us to herd immunity, the more mutations, and the greater the risk of a mutation being impervious to the current vaccine.

I don't disagree with anything you said in your first paragraph--I'm not an anti-vaxxer by any stretch (something that I figured would have been obvious when I mentioned that I'd already gotten the Moderna). That said, while "drawbacks" might not be the best word, there are things that we just don't know because of the rapid development of the vaccine, and I think that inability to give a clear answer on some questions has caused more reactionary folks to question the science (unfairly).

I also agree with your second paragraph completely. I was beyond pissed off seeing people ignoring the danger and doing what they please. I took a job last summer that put me 20+ hours away from the nearest friend or relative. Over the last year, I've missed every birthday, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas ON TOP OF seeing my doctoral commencement get canceled (on the very day the regalia arrived in the mail). After all that, seeing jackasses spread this virus because they really miss their local bar makes me want to stab a bitch.

Most people I know — and most people they know — have had reactions! Am I simply that unlucky to be in a population with uncommonly frequently adverse reactions, or is some information being ... massaged? Getting my first dose on Saturday.

There are reactions (tiredness, soreness, etc), but it wasn't anything that kept me from going to work. I was just miserable for a couple of days. I wonder how much of it is just the fact that the vast majority of us don't remember the last time we GOT a vaccine/experienced a reaction? I had to get an MMR booster when I went to grad school, and the side-effects were similar. Before that, my last vaccine was, like, elementary school or something like that. I literally don't even remember any of the vaccines from when I was a kid.

I had both Modernas. I'm 31. First one wasn't bad. Sore arm and a bit tired, but nothing too bad. Second one f***ing blew. Two-week bruise and 4-day sore arm were the least of it. I had a legit fever, chills, etc. for a good 24-36 hours after the shot.

I'm glad I got it, but I was legit sick after the second one.

First Moderna shot my arm felt like it got hit by a truck and I felt weak and achy the following day. Cleared up quickly the day after that though.

Just got my 2nd one about 6 hours ago and my arm is once again very sore lol.
