I'm being spoiled by watching the Avalanche and having pretty much every D-man (even some AHL-replacements) being able to skate the puck out if need be and make good first passes. Here we have Fox, Lindgren and sometimes Trouba.

Why wouldn't you try a guy like Reunanen there instead of Smith or Hajek, I have no idea.
