I am beginning to have that same feeling. They may just be a better team overall than the Kings this season, unless the Kings overachieve. I'm not so sure I'm relishing the thought of a postseason matchup so much any more... That would be a lot of crow to have to eat.

Ducks scored one goal and didn't do much else the whole period. Had nowhere near the amount of pressure the Kings had at even strength.

Bernier didn't have much to do on those two powerplays, Fasth had to do more the whole period, so no need for handwringing yet.

I'll tell you what, they lead the league in puck luck, that for sure. It's funny, the Kings looked like the better team the last time they faced the Ducks. They might just be evenly matched.

Bernier didn't miss it. He poked it right into the Duck's skate and it went in for a goal. Bad luck but the Kings couldn't get the puck out.

The Ducks are not a contender and all advanced statistics show it. They won't win the Cup this year. They play a good transition game and have a really good power play. That's about it. They have a goaltender in Fasth that is a completely unknown commodity in the league without a single solid scouting report on him. Getzlaf is playing like its a contract year. A lot of things have aligned for them to have the record they currently do.

They may beat us today - hell, they may even beat us in a seven game series, in which we clearly shouldn't have sniffed another Cup this year. But the Ducks are nowhere near a top five team in this league. Not by a long shot.

If Palmieri's shot doesn't ricochet off his own skate in a pure stroke of luck, we're all talking about how much we dominated 5 on 5 play going into intermission. So chill.
