is starting georgiev over askarov is the closest thing the sharks have done to deliberate tanking in franchise history? I kind of think yes. Askarov is miles better already, if we were trying to win, we would obviously play him, no?

(More hopeful alternative: Maybe we're hoping for a bounce back to re-trade him at the deadline? Can you believe he was a 2024 NHL all-star? Maybe there's something still there?)

I would have rather Askarov played tonight and Georgie against a weaker offensive squad like Calgary tomorrow.

They knew what they were doing.

Martin Jones is still a free agent.

This would be the ONLY time the team could bring him back and the fans would be happy.

I know I am give us a top 3 pick please! I mean look at the team, it is not good especially missing Eklund and our best defensemen in Walman vs a playoff contender. Be happy that the game was competitive until the third and we got to see our young players play some very good hockey at times! Will got 2 points, Macklin got his point and looked ELITE at times this game, Mukh got his first goal and overall played one his best games in my opinion!

This team has shown it can be competitive in games when they are playing at their best, but it is very hard to maintain that level for 60 minutes, and once they aren’t at 100% it falls apart pretty fast unless goaltending bails them out. The good teams don’t always play at 100% but they are able to avoid the meltdowns unlike us as they have MUCH more talent than we do.

This year was always going to be rough I mean just take a quick look at our blueline….Next year is when I truly believe we will see the turnaround of this team, it should be a very exciting trade deadline and offseason!

Agreed. Just got home… goodrow needs the pine. Love the guy but he is a disaster on the ice.

Incredible that the the Sharks keep beating the best in the league thru 40 mins. They need some wins to boost morale and culture but if you are gunna lose, lose in regulation and lose after winning 2/3 of the game.
