Top CF% only ones above 50%
Greig
Pinto
Ostapchuk
Tkachuk
Sanderson
Chabot

Bottom 6 from worst
Gaudette 20%
Kleven
Stutzle
Norris
Hamonic
Batherson 33.33%

Moving Norris to the 3rd line will not help his Corsi numbers .. but right now that's where he belongs. He is a passenger offensively.
I think the Gaudette experience has lived out its usefulness. I think they should call up Jenik who is better in a 4th line role. Gaudette's play has dropped.

Stutzle has been visibly hampered .

Too many with sub par efforts the past 2 games. Sporadic and sparse intensity doesn't win games in this league

I think it's time for Reinhart to go back down. By all accounts MacEwan was doing well in Bellville so he'll probably be called up (not going to do much though).

Norris and Batherson have been invisible the last two games and we need to create some lines that are doing something. The Tkachuk Pinto Greig line had some chemistry but the other combos not much.

The dump-ins were especially painful last night. Sad last two games. Just something missing in that top 6. Other teams can roll a one or two line team, we have serious trouble getting one line to score. I don't understand it... how much is systems and how much is chemistry/players?

I think part of it is we just have a lot of forwards far from their physical peak. Greig (22), Ostapchuk (21), Norris (a million shoulder surgeries), Giroux (old). Even Stützle, although he’s so fast and skilled he can compensate. Everyone can play with Brady because he does all the dirty work and wins almost every battle, but there’s a lot of guys on our team who struggle in this area. Pinto is also pretty good.

It’s why someone like Cousins, who isn’t flashy at all, looked better than a bunch of guys last night. If you can forecheck effectively you’ll create something.

We are obviously in need of another winger as well.

Forsberg has been bad but it's not his fault we're losing, we can't generate any offense.
Yep.

I can’t imagine any teams strategy to win would consist of scoring zero goals. It's 0 goals scored in 5 periods iirc.

Would think (or hope) it's Ullmark & Leevi as the backup now.

Any word on Ullmark’s expected return?

Was just checking on it...

Looks like day to day still

Wondering if he has a miraculous recovery for the 4 nations...

Brady Norris Batherson
Timmy Giroux Gaudette
Cousins Pinto Greig
Earn your time fourth line

I want to reunite the old school first line. These guys know how to play together and maybe it will get them going. Brady will stir the drink and pull them into the fight.

Timmy's got enough talent to make those two score. Whether they like it or not, he will just bounce the puck off of them.

Pinto and Greig are going to be career third liners in my eyes so we better get them used to making the most of their position. They can't be slotted to play any higher than this and hopefully at this slotting they will get some good matchups and put up some points. I like Cousins here along with Greig to steer the crap on that line and get under the opposing teams skin.

The fourth line should be based on your play. If you're playing good you'll get the time. And if you're not, someone else will take your spot or you won't get much time. We essentially need to be a three-line team with the depth we have.

Hammer needs to sit for about five games before we use him again. You should only play one of five games when someone has got an injury or needs a rest. He is better as a cheerleader than he is as a player right now.

I’d really like to try Norris on Stützle’s wing. Stützle would rbenefit from a trigger man who could keep up with him, and while I know Norris is solid defensively, we have to get him scoring at 5v5. Greig isn’t a massive drop off in his own end and can Center the 3rd line.

Norris - Stützle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Pinto - Giroux
Ostapchuk - Greig - Cousins
Gregor - Gaudette - Reinhardt

So this is what Green has decided to try. I like the top 6 but that third line is going to be bad. Worth it if you can get Stutzle’s line going though.

Jensen missed practice, green said he just wasn't feeling well, sounds like he's caught whatever was bugging Stü, which explains his game the other night.
