Allison on the broadcast is correct. 41 seconds elapsed from the time of the offsides from the goal. There needs to be a time limit.

@ 41 seconds after the offsides the advantage of being offsides is long since gone. The NHL needs to look into this and tweak the replay rule.

Ian was also right about the Tanev penalty, if the guy gets up, no penalty, if he flops/stays down there’s a penalty.

Your balloon analogy is apt...they had a lot of momentum coming out of the 1st and just sort of let it slowly escape until they were taking low percentage "throw it at the net from some bizarre angle" or straight up duffing shots off their sticks. Frustrating last 10 minutes or so of that period.
