Yes, more of this please. It's the way he has to play to be the most effective in the offensive zone.

Doubtful. They are about to go into turtle-defense 3rd period mode.

Can't believe how much open ice is out there for the Kings. Flyers look lost defensively. Neuvirth has saved Philly's bacon so far in this game.
 
Kopitar is slaughtering everyone on the ice in 1-on-1 battles. and a few one on twos. and at least two 1-on-3s that I remember. Is the old Kopitar back? Absolute monster, dominant everywhere.
 
Not gonna lie, I should know better this year, but I'm still worried--Flyers strike me a little like the Oilers and Flames, who will play devil-may-care offense this period. Like I said earlier, they don't care about giving up possession to make risky plays, so anything but flawless defense can cause problems since they'll just throw bouncing pucks wherever they damn well please.

Doughty currently on a 15 goal, 52 point pace.

Can't play offense though, he's basically Eric Desjardins, or a glorified Vlasic.
 
Growing up my brother played B, almost A level hockey so my mom has years and years of being a hockey mom... But hasn't really watched more then clips or a game here or there for decades.

They got tickets to todays game for Christmas.

She asked me why they track hits, thinking maybe if they had to many it would be a penalty or something...
I explained no, if anything it would be considered a good thing.

She also asked why they don't just shoot high, over the goalies shoulder :D
She would fit in well with the "JQ isn't so good... just shoot high!" crowd... Who I can now say share the same mentality and understanding as my mother. I sent her a few puck level pictures and talked about goalie positioning for a bit, lol. Gave me a chuckle though.

Yeah I said that right when he started killing it offensively, contract pressure is over, it's done in just about everything but signature. Would make sense.

Either that, or he's actually saying "well can't get carried by Carts anymore, guess I'd better hit the gas!" :sarcasm:

The guy has a billion points and only a plus 6. I'm willing to bet he may be negative by seasons end. Meanwhile doughty only has two less goals and is a plus 16. But hey, it's all about the points....

I don't know he looks like Mike Fisher to me if I have to compare him to a forward.

No I think they actually believe it. Which is what's so crazy. And you're going against 3 groups. The east coasters that don't watch the games out west, the Sens fans, and the Swedes. And that last group is just fanatical that saying anything against him is attacking the whole county.
