So much growth since the "Muzzerby" days!

Speaking of Ellerby, he played for Team Canada in the Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland, over the holidays. I don't know who he plays for during the season but I'm guessing somewhere in Europe.

Better make it a 20 not working yet!

After a slow start great period. The third line is simply playing their best hockey of the year.

That third line is exactly what we needed. Production AND Pressure. Even if the production doesn't necessarily stay as hot, Carter will return, which begs the question--does that make Shore the 4C? In any case, our bottom six is looking beastly when healthy.

the one timers from DD and having bodies in front of the net seem to be big improvements from last year. I think getting Looch has helped a lot with net presence and Merch helps too - players like Shore and Pearson seem to be doing it well recently at times - I think they have seen how effective Looch has been. The one timers from DD could see his points total have a good rise and him going to another level as a player

Yep guys going to the net hard has been a major difference. It opens up some space for point shots too, which can be a major influence on our D scoring. I think the King-Lewis-Brown line is going so hard there too it's rubbing off. Mersch can learn a ton from a guy like Lucic.

He probably thinks his only shot at a Norris is to score more. As long as he keeps his defence up, I'm happy.

If Drew gets at least 55 to 60 points I think he'll be seriously considered for the Norris. Especially if we make the playoffs.

His only shot is for people to recognize that offensive-only deployment isn't representative of "all-around ability" at the position.

Dude is a top-5 shutdown and all-situations d-man, if he can put up 60 points as well, he SHOULD be a lock.

Sorry off topic but kopi has turned his game around. The 1 vs 1 attempt he took the puck to the middle and just missed on the backhand. Earlier this year he would have kept it wide and try to pass it back to the point. Kudo to him.

His only shot at the Norris is to get traded to the Eastern Conference.

I think that with all the talk in the media around here (Canada, specifically Ontario) when they were on their eastern swing, he has a much better shot at it.

"Is that guy even good at defense? How many goalz has he scored?"

I think its a hockey only thing, where you have defensmen who are bad at defense... and thats OK.

DD shots look way better now. Happy he worked on it.

I can't figure out why it took so long for the kings to incorporate that 1 timer on the pp. I thought it would happen last year when Carter buried one from inside the dot but it was one time thing. Besides Carter, Toffoli should be a natural there as well. Doughty?, I didn't expect that but it works!

This team was definitely missing some depth like Dwight King. Nice to see him healthy again.

The Kings really have had the good fortune of having young dmen learn from some savvy veterans, going back to O'Donnell, Scuderi, Mitchell and Regehr.

The strong stick work from Muzzin and McNabb has me thinking maybe they learned something from developing within this system.
