He's really good at playing hockey
He's pretty bad at coaching, mentoring, and managing it

Every other aspect of his life beyond hockey signals to me that he's a pretty shit person

Take this with a grain of salt, but my Dad had a good friend who hung out at a club in Edmonton called The Grinder. He saw Gretzky and the boys face down in piles of blow, and at that time Wayne was on TV telling kids to say no to drugs.

Not to mention the whole gambling scandal during his time coaching the Coyotes, that his wife and assistant coach were involved in but he conveniently wasn't.

Ah well, most athletes shouldn't be looked at as role models.

Tbf to Gretz, he did do a bang up job in 2002 rallying Team Canada on to a Gold.
