Hoping Dach puts some money on the board. Everyone is saying this is a trap game. The boys need to focus.
This team, needs to step up, and not let that happen...........it has, but let's hope all that is behind us, this should be a confident crew right now. That would be so Montreal to lose against Columbus and Chicago and win against Vegas Florida and Tampa
Don't take Chicago lightly. Need a win. Even bad teams win 1 game out of 3.Well we finished 2024 with a bang. We are facing a Blackhawks team reeling after 5 straight losses, and an embarrassing shellacking in the Winter classic. They should be coming for a fight.
Habs are riding a high. Winners of 3 in a row against tough competition and 6 of their last 7.
It's the first of back to back and ya gotta think Dobes is getting the net in one of them. I prefer he starts this game.
The boys need to come out confident but not cocky. Work hard. Dig in. Get the W!
GHG!!
To be honest bo1 in today's nhl is random as hell. Because god knows Habs would get steam rolled in bo7 against Florida teams or Vegas. I think it's great for the standings but I do agree habs need to overplay a team like Chicago. This team, needs to step up, and not let that happen...........it has, but let's hope all that is behind us, this should be a confident crew right now.
Beat the Hawks!!
Is Tinordi playing?
not sure. was hoping for the kidMonty in....why?
Monty in....why?
It tells me they’re confident with this Habs team but not that confident. They believed they had a real chance to beat TB on the 1st btb. Different story for the 2nd btb vs Avs. A back to back only for us and not the Avs in their home arena. Habs want to come out with 2 points from the back to back. Monty has more of a track record despite all of Dobes’ promise.Monty in....why?
Gonna look like a stupid move if we lose.Monty in....why?
All good guesses. My sole concern is Dobes being destroyed against the Avs...and now the confidence goes back down. The kid has to play. If you want to rid Monty a lot...well no need to keep Dobes on the bench. My thinking:
- Trap game. So maybe playing their #1 goalie helps them avoid falling victim because he can make the saves. Not that Dobes won't. It's just that Monty gives them the better chance.
- They want to ensure they can win this game in order to be sure they nab a 4th win in this post-Christmas road trip. Because even if Monty is in nets against Avs the next day, chances are they lose that one. So playing Monty offers the better chance they nab the 2 pts in Chicago.
- Coach and management want to evaluate Dobes against better competition. And a game against a reeling Chicago might not be the kind of team they feel they can properly evaluate him in.
These are all guesses.
Dobes seems to have a swagger to him. We'll see how it goesAll good guesses. My sole concern is Dobes being destroyed against the Avs...and now the confidence goes back down. The kid has to play. If you want to rid Monty a lot...well no need to keep Dobes on the bench.
It's a good decision, a way to test the kid, he stood tall against the Panthers and showed no sign of being nervous and the team will probably give more of an effort with him back there which isn't a bad thing on a b2b game.Monty in....why?
Dobes is absolutely going to the meat grinder in Colorado…Devil’s advocate. Early in the season they’d give games like this to Primeau. He would always get destroyed. Let’s see if Dobes can do better. If he contains the damage and we get an honorable defeat, IMO it’s a step forward for him.All good guesses. The Colorado game is a much tougher game than Florida and TB because of all the circumstances around it. It’s a borderline unwinnable game. And maybe it forces the players to play a tighter game against the AVS to help Dobes too....anyway, we will see.
Do you actually watch the games? They played his very first game against the SC champs....reasoning here is way offI hope they’re looking for a backup cuz if they aren’t playing Dobes in games like this, they should send him down. I heard Monty is starting. I don’t think throwing Dobes in against Colorado is a good idea (if that’s the plan)
Dach should be highly motivated coming back to Chicago, he was last time when he scored the shootout winner. There were 3 Hawks fans next to me chirping him all game (and the lamest chirps - "you suck Dach" etc), and when he scored the winner and turned and faced our side of the ice. I then asked those 3 guys how they liked Dach now? They just scowled as I laughedHoping Dach puts some money on the board. Everyone is saying this is a trap game. The boys need to focus.
