Well we finished 2024 with a bang. We are facing a Blackhawks team reeling after 5 straight losses, and an embarrassing shellacking in the Winter classic. They should be coming for a fight.

Habs are riding a high. Winners of 3 in a row against tough competition and 6 of their last 7.

It's the first of back to back and ya gotta think Dobes is getting the net in one of them. I prefer he starts this game.

The boys need to come out confident but not cocky. Work hard. Dig in. Get the W!

GHG!!

Hawks will come at us hard for sure.... hungry for a Win. Habs know this so it's a good little test for us after our latest momentum.

No doubt Dobes gets the start against the Hawks and Monty against the Avs

Dobes' debut was a game for the ages, but let's remind ourselves the kid is a rookie. He'll have a few clunkers between now and end of season; I hope we cut him some slack when the puck trickles through his pads for the first time. We're kidding ourselves if we believe our goalie tandem is set based on his one game.

For me this is a must win given the circumstances.
We need to show we can string more than three games together and we faltered in our last opportunity.
I always feel the trap games tell you a lot about your club.

If the players aren't just spewing rhetoric the team should be able to focus on this next game.
Even if we come out a bit flat we should still be able handle this Hawks team no contest.

I start Jakub Dobes with no fear.
He should be getting the net every second game until he doesn't deserve it.

The players love him and probably have since his performance in camp'
Like I said before the players always know no offense Primeau but you never instilled confidence in anyone.

Good teams win these games are we becoming a good team yet?

He didn't have many clunkers in Laval.
He'll give up bad goals but he's a fighter and shakes it off really well.
If he has a clunker I would wager the players in front of him are missing a few cogs as well.
He will be the type of goaltender who gives you far more chances to win games that you shouldn't than blow games that you should.

I do love him.

This could be a trap game. But if they don't stoop to Chicago's standards and keep the energy they've been playing with the last month, and more specifically the last 3 games, they should win this one.

Good news is it should be a Dobes start, which should give the team a bit more focus than if it was Monty and they felt they could slack off a bit.

After being shocked by back-to-back-to-back wins against each of the top teams in the league this seems like a game that you'd think the Habs would roll over them, but can see this as a team game.

Given Saturday is Colorado, I have to imagine they give Dobes the start against Chicago

Or if it was Primeau and they felt that any shot against could be a goal against, so they play with less confidence.
