Why are we trading our leading scorer in Wilkes for a conditional 7th when we have problems scoring?

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say Rem asked for a trade. Who knows though.

Most our players seem like whatever, but we ended up missing the playoffs by a few goals last year.
I'm ok with seeing Puljujarvi get his shot. My expectations are minimal though.

Where'd you pull that from? He's a 1.30 career. Garbage scoring, even before double hip surgery.
Very strong defensively at least though.

Maybe relying on a single rate stat isn't an ideal method of evaluating players...

Andrew Ebbett was almost a point per game player in over 300 games in the AHL. He scored .30 points per game in 224 career games in the NHL.

Some guys just aren't cut out to be NHL regulars.

I was giving you an NHL level rate, not an AHL level rate.
What he's doing in the AHL now is a carry-over of the strong scoring he's always had.

If you're bringing him in to score...he should be able to fill that need.

Because we get a little bit of cap relief with Pitlick gone IIRC.

But if that's not so, he was never a call up option because of his NHL cap hit anyway.

I assume you are referring to the Baby Pens correct? Because Pitlick was never playing with the Pens this year.

AHL has veteran limits, they were already swapping guys in and out of the lineup. If I was to guess, they’re expecting pool party to be in the A for a while and didn’t want to hold Pitlick out as often as they or he would’ve had to.

The issue is more that we'd send a near league minimum guy and get that relief, but he'd cost a little more, and there's no space for that difference.
