Yeah, I dont mind a few more liljgren/ceci types. Thrun, Mukh, Thompson have not shown themselves to be clear NHL dmen yet. Sitll young of course, but they just havent shown it yet, and Ferraro has regressed so far that he too is arguably not an NHLer anymore.Dickinson is a good defender. Or at least has the mobility to be refined into a good defender. Sahlin Wallenius, Misskey, and Roberts all also have upside in their own zone with assorted warts and risk.
Plus defensive defenders are easier to acquire than offensive ones becuase it's offence from the back end that costs a premium. The league is full of grindy d-first blueliners that can be paired with the offensively minded prospects the team has.
This is very good though. the sharks clearly have a good core and are not far away (this last 5 mins aside). they arent far away, but they need one more offensive defenseman who can be threat to score other than walman and they need one more vet D.
I will be interested to see if Cagnoni, Dick, or Pohlcamp can take a job next year, but they clearly need help back there. Walman's absence is really glaring...
