From what I hear it's not a good draft overall but a 4th or 5th pick in this draft might be above average. Good top 5 group - Schaefer, Misa, Hagens, Martone, McQueen. And I think we will draft top 5. Or 6.

Wright is doing well for his age. Beniers is not much of a scorer, but we knew that.

The idea that Wright is a disappointment is mostly coming from people who don't have a realistic reference point for a 20 year old 4th OA pick.

Bedard is so overhyped. He lacks so much in so many categories. But Chicago has same problems that we have. The franchise is not run properly and in Chicagos case it has been that way for a long time.

I've been pretty sour on Schwartz during his time with Seattle...injured a lot, hasn't seemed to have any chemistry with literally any of the other forwards...but I have to say, he's been great the last 15-20 games or so.

We're an expansion team and have been building through the draft since before we signed our first player. It's unrealistic to think you can build an NHL through the draft instantly.

This draft is pretty weak. The top 4 or 5 players should be pretty good, but the bottom drops out quickly.

You can see Wright has serious skills as a shooter, which is why he was considered a top talent in his draft year. He fell a bit because he has to elevate other aspects of his game, but those are coming along.

The coaches love Beniers and he also shows why he was considered a top talent in his draft. He's not a pure goal scorer, but not all centers are McJesus.

I've already penciled in Logan Hensler as Seattle's pick he's a USA RD for Wisconsin I think and rated as high as 7th and as Low as 26th by various scouting outfits
