I'm not unhappy to Heinola cemented into the lineup even after Samberg returns, especially if it means we can bid farewell to our 8-year project pylon.

At least we have some time to rest and practice.

Back to back at home seems easier because you just go home to sleep after the game. It's boarding planes and flying that makes it difficult, even travelling from Minnesota to Winnipeg players come in weary in the middle of the night.

Ottawa is taking the reverse trip, I'd say a 5 game road trip on top of the one they just had out West is either a rallying point for the team or becomes a point of recalibration after the streak they've been on. That ended with a loss once Ullmark went down. Jake Sanderson is playing some good hockey right now, so with him and Chabot as 1-2 they can keep a good pace going 4 Brad Berry coached UND products on their team. The challenge will be to hem them in, and get shots on net, draw penalties.

Avs are getting on a roll, and if they keep rolling they will roll past the Stars in the standings.

Arniel stated that 14 of the next 20 at home was a pivotal moment for the Jets to accumulate points. We'll see if the message is received, or if they come out pf the break like turkeys.

Scheifele still needs to prove he belongs on Team Canada, so I am optimistic.

Stanley and Coghlan are the scheduled 3rd pairing tonight after practice yesterday. Which apparently ices Heinola instead of cementing him. Guaranteed that the outcome of this game will be decided by how that 3rd pairing plays, in the minds of many fans.

The only questionable spot is 4C as neither stayed on for extra work.

Hopefully they play better together. Arniel did mention pairs could be in flux, which is fine, play the combos that do well.

Edit : also with Heinola playing suddenly that third pairing is back to mattering instead of picking on depth players .

I saw an interesting stats about the Sens goaltending in the last 2 season if the Sens would have just league average goaltending (average save%) ... they would have won 40 - 8 - 3.
I don't know how they figured that out (SN) but that's insane ... Jets are so lucky to have Hellebuyck.

How insane is this?
You put your #8/9 (Stanley) into the lineup and you have your #7/8 (Heinola) play his off side so he looks worst than your weakest D man on the team.
Stanley has to be the MVP of the Jets dressing room ... hopefully one day he can show the fans on the ice how valuable he is because I'm not seeing it right now.

On the negative side, for those who are watching on TV the fact Montreal is playing on TSN tomorrow means this is likely a Garry Galley broadcast game on the schedule.
