This is the first time of heard that "yipping/howling" people have talked about. Thats crazy. Used to be standard at AWA.

Tough loss.

Morris not playing well.

Smith/OEL aren't all that great in the SO.

Hanzal top % improvement for FO in the NHL.

3 for 11 isn't terrible, certainly not Vrbata territory, but why isn't Ribeiro in?

Smith is absolutely terrible in the shootout, his save % was less than .610 before tonight. THis is the one time I miss Lababera, because he was actually very good in SO's

Oh well, at least we got a point against one of the top teams.

Our record over the last 6 games:

1-2-3

Not very good.

Not good enough to compete with the big boys.

We need some kind of subtle shakeup.

What are we, in rebuild mode?

This is our goal? Is this the goal of Anaheim or Los Angeles?

Gotta aim higher than that, boys.

Our schedule is pretty favourable from now until the Olympic break. We've got to turn these 1 point games into 2 though. Preferably clean ROW!

Ribiero showed more hustle tonight and it translated into two points offensively. Him and Kennedy had their moments, and Boeds/Vermette were solid. There's just a little something missing without Doan in there.

If Greiss was a better shootout goalie could he come in for just the shootout? The rules say:

Once the shootout begins, the goalkeeper cannot be replaced unless he is injured. No warm up shall be permitted for a substitute goalkeeper.

Does that mean you can change goalies before the first shooter? Or if you are the goalie at the end of OT you are the shootout goalie?

Kind of like calling in Mariano Rivera.

Yes you can. This has been done before by Dallas. You can replace a goalie after overtime just for the shootout.

Thanks for the info. Never saw or heard of it. Guess you wouldn't want to damage someone's psyche. Like not letting them play on PP or PK because they aren't good at it. At some point do what's best for the team.

Smith has admitted himself that shootouts aren't his strength and that he gets freaked out by them.

Can only imagine what this would do to Smith's ego.

Smitty just looks uncomfortable and indecisive. Sits back too much IMO...that's not who he is....needs to be more aggressive.

By our estimations the Sharks fans were only about 20% to 25% of the attendance. I really thought there would be a lot more given the 49ers game. It is nice to see Yotes fans fill up the arena. Also it was awesome how the fans with about 4 minutes left in regulation started howling, that was great. First time I've seen it live in person.
