This team completely collapsed the moment Money Hands Monahan got injured.
I think Hughes can really use it as a key selling point. "I know that Sean hasn't scored much due to injuries, but look how team collapsed when he went down! It's gotta be at least one first round pick and a prospect!"

Doesn’t make it right and “todays” gm doesn’t fly that way just do some research lol. Waiting for vets contracts to expire for flexibility is by definition not a rebuild.

Man wtf are you even talking about. Do research about what? GMs lying to the media? Happens all the time.

The only contracts that Hughes is waiting to expire are the ones that can't be moved. That's it. You think if he could trade Drouin, Hoffman, Gallagher, Dadonov etc, he wouldn't? They'd be gone yesterday if any team wanted to take them.

The contracts that can be moved, will be moved for futures. We've already seen it last year and we'll see it again this year.

Trading vets for futures, stockpiling picks, and developing prospects in the NHL. Pretty sure that's a rebuild. I don't know what else to tell you.
