I just want to see another strong effort from my boy AX, he needs to be on the first wave of the pp, no more Drouin or Dach at the point because they suck at it.

If we continue that inane static defensive posture on penalty kills Ovechkin will have an early New Year’s feast.Hope Ovechkin pumps our net today. Get Gretzky, buddy.
You can exist with one point man on the PP who won't shoot. Probably won't win the Cup though. See SJ and Joe Thornton. IMO he gets most of the blame for them not winning a Cup. Since he wouldn't shoot they didn't need to cover him so it might as well be 4 on 4.Dach is fine there, but better on the wall.
Drouin sucks at everything, but putting him out there with Dach makes no sense. Both aren't shooting and you can exist with one guy who's gonna make the passes and not shoot, but not 2. Penalty killers can literally play 4 on 3.
Xhekaj at the point (left handed shot)
Dach and Suzuki rotating between half-wall and the point.
Dvorak net front/bumper.
Caufield one-timer.
No idea why they haven't done this yet.

Scared it might actually work? Something has changed with this team. They got off to a surprising start with much of it being attributed to a weak schedule and Sean Monahan being much better than we expected. Now that we have inevitably crashed back to earth it seems weird that they wouldn't experiment with different options on a pp that is league-worst. We need two top 10 picks but we also need to find out what our young players are capable of. X is definitely the best option and not a 5 forward strategy.Dach is fine there, but better on the wall.

That passive box guarantees great scoring chances. I don't understand that strategyIf we continue that inane static defensive posture on penalty kills Ovechkin will have an early New Year’s feast.
Probably because we spend more than half of each powerplay in our zone or neutral ice drop passing the puck to one another. Its the perfect defensive power play. The one good thing about the Habs league worst power play is they are somehow the only team who has yet to give up a short handed goal.
If our players have any pride this won't be the outcome. Being outscored and embarrassed 11-3 in the last two games should light a fire under their asses and if not, we should be worried.6-1 drubbing for the Caps today. This won't be pretty.
Today is my birthday and I am more focused on the Team Canada game.Prob can’t watch today. At least not the entire game. Can’t say I really want to either. We’ll see.

Thanks Timo. I would rather lose 5-4 with Wideman getting zero points.Happy Birthday! Hope Chris Wideman brings you a hat-trick.
Do we ever win in Washington?
You need a Halak for that.Only when it matters like the playoffs.

Don't we also have games in hand? We are higher up on Columbus and Chicago though. We're actually only 9 points up on Anaheim.
The fact that it is a lottery means we can still be in a great position.Don't we also have games in hand? We are higher up on Columbus and Chicago though.
