I'm still behind Lewis. Yes he's probably playing the worst hockey of his career and I wouldn't mind seeing him get benched (he definitely needs to get bumped off Richards' line) but I wouldn't trade him. When he's on his game he's a force, not offensively but not every player needs to be a scorer. His streak right now is ridiculous though. Get it together, Lewie.

Oh and woo! 2 points!

Lewis is a UFA to be with 0 points, playing on a team that has removed multiple players with greater point production out of the lineup to put him into it. Our center making 5+ million is now saddled with this 0 points in 28 games linemate. He deserves to be harped on, and I hope very much that DL has no intention of bringing him back next season.

Sadly Dwight King is way more skilled than Lewis, Lewis didn't even display an offensive touch in the AHL(except one year).

Dwight King has scored every where he has played.

Lewis has been a minus player over his last 60+ games. Defense is suppose to be his saving grace.

The guy has to go, I wish him luck on his next team. Cup contenders can't afford to ice players like Fraser/Lewis anymore.

Not when you have to go through a team Like ANH and Chicago to win a cup.

You have to score on those teams.

When your rookie goalie with 1 secondary assist has more points than a forward getting more than 12 minutes of ice time there is something very wrong. Lewis is killing whatever line he is on.

King was drafted a season later, made his NHL debut 2 seasons later, and has played half as many games.
It seems to me that Lewis has had even more opportunity to succeed than King has, and yet he has 0 points to King's 17.
Exactly how patient do you think we need to be with him?

That's it, keep it coming!

I'm obviously just kidding around, since nothing anyone types is going to change actual reality, but I'm also just sayin'. It's just funny how King was the answer to no question asked by anyone 6 weeks ago, and today it's completely different.

You know who needs to score against Anaheim and Chicago to beat them? It's not Lewis. Who scored the series winner against the Kings in the conference final last year?

Whatever happens with Lewis is going to happen with Lewis. The guy had 3 goals and 7 points in 72 games the year the Kings won the Cup. He saved his best for the playoffs, when he had his moment as he tracked down Hamhuis to set up a series winning goal in OT. He doesn't have any points at the moment, may not be playing great, but that doesn't mean things can't or won't change. It doesn't mean anything will change either.

I may be a sap, but the people involved with this organization at the moment have earned the benefit of my doubt. If Sutter puts Lewis out there, and feels Lewis makes the Kings better, then that's how it is. If Lombardi doesn't get rid of Lewis, and feels that Lewis makes the Kings better, then that's how it is. For me, they've earned that. Best start in franchise history this year, sitting near the top of the division, conference, and league. Made at least the conference finals two consecutive years(with Lewis on the team). The Cup win in their back pockets.

hate early saturday games because I usually go out on Friday nights. slept through this one...

Sutter might be using Lewis to try and add speed to the Richards/Toffoli line. That's the only reason I can think of.

Richards skating in particular has gotten really bad this year. Nearly every game his lack of speed costs him a would-be scoring opportunity.

Give this man a kewpie doll! Richards and Toffoli are slow as molasses -- as usual posters only look at offense.

Thanks for doing the math. I knew with only 2 black circles in the last 3 rows it must be pretty good.

I'd expect us to slow down sometime, but as of now I'd wager we'd finish with over 100 points.

With 45 games remaining, and a possible 90 points up for grabs, the Kings would have to attain 51% of those 90 points to reach 100 points. Rather achievable.

I had to watch the game later today, will someone explain the Richards penalty to me? All I saw from the awesome as usual FSW angle was he was taken down, the avs guy pinned him and they called a penalty on him. And once again these refs were awful, especially in the 3rd and the start of OT. They must've been the same crew who worked the last game.

First Kyle Clifford, now Trevor Lewis.

Who will they try next on the LW with Richards and Toffoli?

Erik Rasmussen, Raitis Ivanans, Mikko Eloranta, Steve McKenna, Eric Lacroix?

All kidding aside, when the Kings get a lw for that line, we are going to be pretty loaded. Assuming the Kings can get a 25-30 goal type lw at the deadline we have the type of offense that can compete with Chicago, as long as DS doesn't do anything dumb like break up Carter and Kopitar.

Trevor Lewis:

* 4th line
* Healthy Scratch
* Traded

Take your pick, but anything else is unacceptable

I still can't believe this guy was invited to Team USA's camp this summer. With some here trying to make the case he deserved a spot.

Lewis is a good pk'er, but that's about it, doesn't add much else at ES. Often times bottom line players on successful teams are overpaid when they hit UFA, I assume the same happens with Lewis and he moves on.

If he goes an entire season with no points.....Lewis won't be getting any pay day.

He will be lucky to receive an NHL contract from the Kings.

I'm in the same boat. But hey even when we're doing awesome there's gotta be someone to complain about.

Wrong. If you can't tell he's not providing anything else either and there are better options I don't know what to tell you.

Because even the top brass of team USA have come out and said guys might make the team because of what they bring outside of scoring, like defensive specialists, guys who can kill penalties and can skate on the big ice. There will be specialist probably on a few teams that will have the entire hockey community scratching their heads. I'm not saying Lewis will make it, but he does those sorts of things as well as anyone in the league. The USA team found out the hard way that if you just put 12-14 top scores on the team, you'll be done early like teams prior to the 2010 Olympics.

Lewis is a minus Ten over his last sixty games, he is playing some of the worst hockey of his career lately.

That team USA invite, might have screwed him up.
