Oh well better than losing by a goal, in OT or in a shootout. Had to lose sometime. Now that this winning streak is over I'm interested in seeing what goes on from here, how they put this behind them and how the team responds.

The streak is over barring a miracle... We still hold the record for SECOND longest winning streak in NHL history... That's a great accomplishment...

But listen up, in addition to the Pitt's the Washington Capitals are now on my list to pound the **** out of during the playoffs!!!!!!

Go Jackets!!!!!!!!!

Thing that frustrates me is why the Jackets gave Dubinsky that big contract, which seems like it came because he played good defense on Crosby. He's limited offensively and to me seems suited as a 3rd liner but he's being paid like he's much more. When we're in the offensive zone the "dangerous" forwards with the puck are Saad, Atkinson, Wennberg, and maybe to a lesser extent Foligno. Jenner and Dubi are grinders.

At least with Jenner you don't have him locked into a silly, long term overpay (like Dubinsky), and hopefully the Jackets avoid overpaying and limiting their ability to resign their higher skilled players down the road.

I really want to avoid playing Washington in the playoffs. At least in the first round.

I'd rather play Pittsburgh or the NYR.

We've already discussed this to death in other threads; it has no place in this thread. Let's enjoy the 3rd period, win or lose, and not find old crap to ***** about shall we?

It was a good run, guys.

Lots to be proud of and look forward to for the rest of the season.

And if there's a silver lining, it's better to lose to a very good team than end the streak with a fluke loss against a team like AZ or COL.

By all rights the Caps should sit back thinking they have saved the day and beat us... Perhaps we can pot one or two and have a good period going into the home game on Saturday...

Holtby has been stellar though....

For sure. The response to this game is important.

Tell ya what, the response in the 3rd period is important. Will these guys roll over and die or will they fight like hell and try to pull off an epic comeback? My money is on fight like hell.

What bothers me about this game, we are the best team in the NHL on PP, best team in goal differential and the only team with 6 players over 25 points each....

We should score or should have scored at least one or two goals...

Tonight's game may have been more about the Caps than the Jackets....
