So disappointing, really depressing way to lose.

Normally when the puck gets stuck in equipment it's called dead but whatever hockey the ****ing hard way.

A few thoughts after hearing the audio on Walsh's twitter

1) He is a terrible interviewer
2) Love Tippett's take, having no *****ing about calls, the team didn't deserve to win and got the outcome they deserved.
3) Also loved Smith's reaction, clearly furious, he agreed with tip that they didn't deserve to win playing like that, and despite the anger and humiliation managed to not throw the skaters under the bus. He has got to be wanting a rock to hide under for a while, but still came off like a real stand up guy.

What an *******

These are all good points. We shot ourselves in the foot by not closing out the game when we had the chance, because we had 5 powerplays including a 5 minute major that we managed to not score on, and Boedker hit the post on an open net (I'm not singling him out specifically though, because our whole offense deserves the blame for drying up over the last 5 games).

Also you're right that it was a classy move for Smith not to throw his teammates under the bus after what was clearly an extremely frustrating loss.

Fellow HF Boarders,

I'm embarrassed to say that I actually attended this debacle in Buffalo. Sat in section 119 with my old man.

No one knew how that puck went in the net, they just celebrated and left for the parking lots.

I have to say, you guys are lucky i wasn't in front of my computer for this one. For 2+ periods, the Coyotes actually looked worse than the worst team in the league.

PP was abysmal.

No one was driving the net.

Miscues all over the place.

Klesla was our most dangerous d-man.

OEL was non existent in the O-zone.

David Moss was playing the powerplay.

Conner Murphy - God Bless him because he looked good for the most part and will be a good NHL player - made 2 catastrophic, beer-league variety blunders in the defensive zone that should have resulted in goals.

If the Sabres had the talent of an AHL team and COHO playing, this game would easily be 4-1 or 5-1 in their favor.

Vrbata was non-existent and soft. Ribeiro floated around like a ballerina on acid. Tyler Ennis could steal his lunch money.

Derek Morris was NHL player-Derek Morris of the past as someone astutely pointed out.

Michael Stone - based on his performance tonight - DOES NOT BELONG IN THE NHL. ECHL, maybe. That goal scoring stretch was a fluke. Will never happen again.

Kyle Chipchura? Did that guy get traded or waived or something? Haven't seen him in ages.

The Sky is not falling, no. But we are not looking like an NHL team. It is impossible for Doan to fix this. Tippet is not getting through to the players. I miss Dave Schlemko.

Okay, *now* I've seen everything.

I had that same thought, man. 50+ years of watching hockey. But to be honest, I think I could have gone without ever seeing a goal scored that way.

Not like we "deserved" to win that game though. More like we don't even deserve the point we got, but we'd better keep it anyway.

Stone might need the christmas break to reflect over his play. It is time to let Runblad play. So very frustrating to watch NHL players that can not handle the puck. Smith has been great but now we can't score to save our life!?!

They deserved to lose this game, other than the first period Buffalo definitely out played them. Time to put behind them for a few days, go enjoy Christmas with their loved ones and then hopefully the new year brings on the wins and for the love of the hockey gods some sustained health!

Oh and I haven't bothered to read through this thread at all but I'll say this anyway because I know it'll be applicable....no they don't need to ****ing trade anyone!

... We lost to the Buffalo Sabres. lol. Watched the 11 minute highlights on NHL.com and pretty much everything was the Sabres in possession and just a lack of everything from the Coyotes. Embarrassing.

That's one of my favorite all time sports quotes. John McKay, coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 70s (when they were legendarily bad)...

"Coach, what do you think of the execution of your offense?"

"I'm in favor of it."

Nearly spit my coffee out on that one.

For the first time I agree with EVERYTHING you said.

All that other stuff is fine WJF. But don't you DARE say this!

I still do no see all the hate for Schlemko. He is not perfect by no stretch, but I still think he is perfect for our third pairing.

Yes it is. Maybe sit Morris for that selfish, stupid penalty he took. No excuse from an experienced D man like that.
