Good 1st period. Transitions were mostly clean, no wasted passes in the d-zone. Carrier is efficient, btw.

Dash looked better.

Dobes looked big in the nets. Good pass cutoffs behind the net. That is a plus. Helps the D a lot in the dump-ins.

Just one period though. Test is coming in the 2nd and 3rd.

MSL can be pretty stubborn, just have to think how long he waited to use Hutson on PP1, how long he kept Ghule on the right side.......how long Pezzeta hasn't play

Amazing asset management. Can't tolerate this fanbase sometimes.

I also want to address another point. I really like Laine on this powerplay as it potentially enables Cole to become a triple threat player rather than a simple on timer weapon. Cole has a great deceptive shot, but his top percentile shot is never going to be nearly as good as Laine's (velocity being the main reason). Like we saw in his dominant sophomore season with Wisconsin, he is at his best on the PP when he can control the play and both pass and shoot the puck. Caufield has built a great reputation as a sniper but his deceptive playmaking is just as good if not better.

Heiny is doing just fine where he is, that line works hard, produces and has chemistry, why mess with it?
