I actually think that break took the wind out of Florida's sail. They had momentum and that break seemed to calm them down and put the ice back to even.

Big win . We're undefeated with Frankie V.

Props to jags ! We witnessed something that will never be met and people are all bent that they stopped the game.

thank you baby Jesus for Vatrano

loving Blidh's game more and more exactly the kind of depth guy you want on the 4th line. Energy, effort, pest.

Someone asked about Vatarno, I was about to answer. He scored a typical Vatrano goal, after that he did not see a lot of icetime. He needs to get up to speed, so that is the smart thing to do. So glad he is back, Blidh was driving the Panthers nuts. Krug set up 2 goals with excellent passing. Rask was his usual perfection. I think he may be in the running for the Hart if he keeps this up and Vezina

Yes, as much as I think it was ridiculous to do then, it did help the Bruins.

Good win.
Much needed points.

Jags aside, since when do you stop a game and celebrate somebody being second best?

I dont get it.

What does third best get? A silver stick?

I mean, I understand a ceremony. That's hockey history and I don't believe we'll see anyone do what Jagr has done ever again.

But you never stop a game with a clock running just to dick around like that. Just strange and actually seemed to sap momentum from the Panthers.

I assume that ceremony was sanctioned by the league and not just something Florida decided to do on their own.

Agreed to even get close to that would be a extreme long shot. He may hold that record for a long time. Think about it that takes 20 seasons at 94 points to equal 1888. His first year was 1990/91, guy is a rare treat to watch. A modern Gordie Howe skating around and still playing at a high level

Good win, closer than it had any right to be though. Have to bury the chances still.

It was.

Handled embarrassingly badly.

So I guess the hall of fame will want Jagr's pants.
...or his butt!

The announcers made note earlier in the telecast that the league, trying to prop up the franchise, had scheduled four straight original six teams for Florida. So, it's not surprising that the ceremony was permitted.

Happy for J.J., even though he did little for us. But I hope this is not a league wide trend when a milestone occurs. Can you imagine the response when play stops at Boston Garden when Hayes gets his 100th?

Yep.

On the bright side, Bergeron looked more like the real Bergeron. Although his line played in their own end a lot more than usual. Pasta had trouble along the boards all game, wonder if that is a result of his elbow injury.

Glad to see our young guns back and out on the ice!

If Vatrano can take that next step of progression, having that second shooter who can snipe and score will make a huge difference going forward. Both and and Czarnik showed off some of that P-Bruins chemistry they had going on last year.

Messier was invited to attend, but wisely chose to spend Christmas with his family than witness the first 54 minutes of this clunker. After the game was halted and Panthers FSN-TV analyst Randy Moller presented Jagr with a golden stick at center ice, both Messier and Gretzky congratulated him on his achievement via video-board tributes.

I loved the Jagr ceremony. I looked at the time from the video on NHL.com. It was 3:28, and if you subtract the first 40 seconds where they showed the goal and the typical "take a quick break after a goal to show replays" that they always do, it's much faster the typical TV timeout.

As long as it's sanctioned by the NHL, which it apparently was, and as long as the opposing team was notified, which they were, I was fine having it. Yeah, it's a little odd, especially since it brings up the natural question of "Why didn't they wait 6 minutes?", but if they were going to do a ceremony, they probably had to do it whenever the point was scored.

I can see it being anticlimactic if you have the Jagr point scored 4 minutes into the game, and the game becomes lopsided for either side, so you get people either mad that they left early and missed the ceremony, or annoyed that they have to wait through a dull game to see the ceremony.

Amazing game by Rask. Glad to see Tuesday didn't rattle him. Frankly, he gets a total pass on Tuesday to have a crap game with that first crap goal, because he's been on FIRE this season. At this point, he could throw a milk crate at Bergeron, and I'd probably still forgive him.

 I doubt that he'll still be a Bruin in 2067 or that most of us will be here either.

The NHL needed the ceremony to happen while the Panthers were playing a team that draws well on the road like Boston, so the league's manufactured Kodak Moment didn't look even more lame in front of rows of empty seats.

Jagr didn't help their cause any by saying the assist went off his *** (I bleeped that out myself). And yes, the triumph of his individual achievement did seem to halt the surging Panthers, so I guess in hindsight I'm OK with it.

Good regulation road win against a team they will be fighting with for an Atlantic playoff spot. Hayes looks like he's got a bit of swagger and Julien seemed to use him a good bit.

I was a little surprised how much the Panthers used Seth Griffith, and he did well, for the most part.

The Bruins aren't as slow of foot as the last couple of years, but I believe they need to up their tempo with their passes and shots, especially on the power play. They move the puck side to side well, but in the words of PJ Carlissimo, they need to 'Put a little mustard on those passes,' in the vein of say, Duncan Keith.
