Is it really so tough to judge plays based on what is actually happening on the ice instead of going with preconceived opinions about a player involved?
In this instance, neither goal was Skinner's fault. It doesn't matter one bit if Skinner sucks or is merely inconsistent. Nor does it matter one bit what other goalie may or may not be capable of if they played for the Oilers, because they don't play for them right now (and most definately not in this game) and most of them aren't available either.
Who actually benefits from the pissing match about a player? That's right no one. So why not focus on the game instead of repeating the same tired arguments for the tenth time, based on the weird idea that they somehow might convince someone this time around?
Not to mention the endless streams of strawmen that get thrown around, as if anyone who criticises Skinner is a hater, or anyone who dares to not blame a goal on Skinner defends him no matter what. It's a rather childish approach, because it has nothing whatsoever to do with what the "other side" is actually saying.
