NEWS | NOTES
Kings are without center Jeff Carter due to an “upper body injury” likely sustained
during the opening shift of the game in Arizona. He is said to be day to day,
but has rejoined the team in Vancouver after traveling home for personal reasons.

Jake Muzzin’s match penalty has officially been rescinded.

Kings are 1-0-0 entering the second game of a 4 game road trip.

Disclaimer: “GDT may not be 100% accurate. I got the line combos from your mom. I used to have Center Ice, Gamecenter Live, and an undercover concession worker in each arena, but this **** costs money. I will admit that my pet otter is using all up that money on his worsening opium problem. I try to not be an enabler, but I haven't had a sea urchin problem in months. Then I thought, why should I pay all this money and have a sea urchin problem to appease fans of random teams that I don't even care about anyway? Unless you are willing to take a bunch of sea urchins off of my hands, don't ***** if I get the lines wrong.” - BF

Sutter told Rosen that Shore shouldn't expect to get more ice time as a result of Carter's absence, so that means either J. Weal will finally get the chance so many of you think he deserves or we'll see 7 D again and A. Kopitar will get 30 minutes.

Hoping for the former, would bet on the latter!

Anze Kopitar with 35 minutes. Doughty with 28.

Actually the D Vancouver is icing tonight is...awful. I'm trying to be kind. Which means they'll be ultra-conservative which means we're ultra-boned. I bet we see Markstrom too which means 50 save performance inc.

Did I mention I don't feel good at all about this one?

Pacific is starting to get healthy and warm up just in time for us to slump and face a bunch of divisional opponents.

27:41 of ice time was a regular season career-high for Kopi last game. Can't let the next few games go to OT for Kopi's sake lol.

Aren't we using all available forwards for this one? You'd think they might call up a forward to serve as an emergency fill in should someone get hurt in warm ups or something happen today since we have a game again tomorrow.

Just wondering.

Did someone mention center depth?

For the Canucks tonight:

H. Sedin - Elite, ancient, (by HF standards), center playing injured.
McCann - Rookie, nuff said
Horvat - Slumping sophomore, doing better of late.
Cracknell - Who?

Thank god we have that powerhouse AHL defence to carry us.

You guys are so going to kill us tonight!

Please have mercy.

It's so cute seeing all the jinx posts already :)

Holy cow, do either of you guys EVER expect the Kings to win?!

Couple of #debbiedowners. Jesus H. Christ.

I'm just being realistic about this roadtrip. I think the remainder of it is going to be uuuugly.

We already look tired, we're playing shorthanded and low on forward depth, against a team who is going to be playing conservatively.

Aside from a few bursts vs. Arizona, we've been handily outplayed since Ottawa. If it's a one-off game here and there that's hockey...but right now this team is playing like the 2014-2015 Kings.

Sorry, calling it like I see it. I don't think this team has much in them until we get home for most of January. The missing depth and riding of top guys has killed them (watch Doughty floating around on D last game).

I'm not rooting against winning, I'd be more than happy to be wrong, and I'm certainly going to cheer the team on.

Canucks are an absolute garbage team. Kings will find a way and win this game.

Ah, a voice of reason.

The team is a mess. Only reason they pulled the game out in OT the other night is because...well, because Edmonton. And because our old buddy Sek-er-a (don't call me Se-ker-a) missed a wide open net in OT.

News flash--so are we right now. Did you see the lines??

It's gonna take a miracle to get production out of a tired team that keeps getting outshot, particularly if we can't get to the net vs. a conservative defense.

They are playing Vancouver. And they have had a full day's rest and most of today as well. They shouldn't be tired.

I'm afraid that you are being overly pessimistic here. Look at the opponent as well. They were awful against EDM the other night and managed a win because EDM is playing the worst hockey in the entire league the last 10 days or so.

I might be overly pessimistic, I just see it as two teams that are really struggling to tread water slapfighting in a mud puddle, and we typically end up on the wrong side of those.

Muzzin match penalty rescinded as per John Shannon. Justice.

I see your McCann/Hrovat/Cracknell and raise you a Shore/AndyAndy/Weal...

Wouldn't mind Cracknell on the team.... he did well in camp a while back if I remember right.

Really I just want to see the TOI after the game. We've seen Sutter bench all 3 of Shore/Andy/Weal at some point or another. The question is, do they all get benched and Kopitar plays 45 mins?

I can't believe that! Dangerous play could have resulted in a major injury!!! Muzzin should be suspended!!!

Oh wait the trade hasn't gone through yet and he's playing tonight?
