It's bizarre based on how poorly they have played at times that they are only four points out of first place in the division and the two teams ahead of them only have one game in hand.
Pens, Wings, Leafs, Jackets and Sabres all lost, but Ottawa won their 6th game in a row and are the hottest team in the league

Bruins played down to Buffalo most of the night. Games like this, I almost wish the other team would score first, because then the Bruins come alive and play with intensity the whole game. When we score first against a bad team we put it in cruise control until the other team makes it interesting.
Buffalo has a very large group of first round draft picks on the roster. They have 8 forwards drafted in the first round, plus two defensemen drafted 1st overall and a third drafted 4th overall. Doesn’t bode well for the tank and high draft pick model for building a team.

I know the Bruins played poorly for most of the game but they did just get back from a two week road trip, so I'm not really surprised but it was hard to watch. Luckily their first game back was against a struggling team. Tomorrow will be a good test.

Florida/Tampa with back-to-back games and Toronto playing the Jets, it will be interesting to see the outcome of those games. I still can't believe how close the Bruins are to them in the standings, fortunately the number of goals against doesn't matter (I know, unless there is a tie). The blowouts that the Bruins have suffered make the season feel worse.

First of all, please allow me to apologize for my posts in the GDT last night. Luckily, my wife took my tablet and phone from me before it got worse. I’m taking beta blockers due to heart issues. They cause me great confusion along with other issues.
I read the replies some of you made to my posts. Honestly, I’m thankful they weren’t worse than they were. I’m hopeful that my medications can be changed and this issue is solved. I’m told I won’t be allowed access to my phone/tablet under these circumstances again.

Again, sorry for this. At least a few of you found humor in it. :)

Cleaning in from the GDT, did Mike and Kristen ever make it home?
They’re coming tomorrow. Thanks for asking. I’m so glad I shared that.

In the end, the hockey gods wouldn't be denied. Buffalo's PP goal was after a borderline call on Wahlstrom, who later drew the penalty that led to the game-winner. Geekie had a goal called back but still ended up with the GWG.

I like Wotherspoon, but Oesterle has won the sixth defenseman job. His veteran presence is palpable. I haven't heard Hampus Lindholm's name in a while. Hope his recovery is on track.

Side note: I've gone thorough periods in life when I couldn't buy a break. In fact, that's been most of 2024. ;) So I feel for the Sabres and empathize with what they are enduring.
God bless, Aeroforce. I hope 2025 is better for you.

I am not very optimistic going forward but wish the best for you!

Exactly. The draft is legalized gambling. Big risk to tank in a lottery draft. If you get a hit, it may take 2-3 years before they are ready. In some cases, even longer. In some cases, never. As we have seen, there is also the chance you will miss, even a big miss, even multiple times in the same draft (2015).

Everyone was having fun. But in all seriousness, take care of yourself. Hope the medical issues improve and you are well.

Fair to say Korpisalo deserves to play the next game. Payroll shouldn't drive merit.
Earlier this year he got a shutout against Philly and didn't get the next start (Luckily Sway got another shutout over Seattle). Seems like Sway gets force-fed starts to try and get his game back in order. It's taking too long. Haven't seen a trace of the version of him we saw against Toronto in the playoffs.

When this year's team gets blown out they don't mess around. 8-2 vs Carolina, 7-2 vs. Dallas, 5-1 vs. Columbus, 8-1 vs. Winnipeg, 5-1 vs. Seattle. They've also been shut out 5 times. Tough to get that goal differential straightened out this way.

Only two teams in the NHL have more points in their last 10 games than the Bruins (LAK and UTA) and both of them have one more point.

Pretty funny.

What's even funnier is that you post that when other teams hadn't finished their games yet. They ended the night with 5 teams with more points than them in last 10 games and two more with same record. Didn't even bother looking at how many teams ave only 1 fewer point.

Ok, on the winner. I did not see the intensity of the shove.....

It looks like Power put the puck in after Coyle whacked at it. The only way you can argue on Cole's goal is he fell on his own and impeded Reimer from having complete
access to all his crease. Given his positioning its very doubtful he was in a position to
be able to use it.

My buddy who is a buffalo fan commented on how bad ice was. Guys falling everywhere and puck bouncing. I told him the ice is shit because we have a terrible owner who wont spend on upgrading ice plant.
Ice was worse than usual. I saw paper confetti falling on the ice (from some previous show) during the game. The ice ruts looked worse than usual.
