So far Tennyson has done a lot to cement my position that one of Braun, Irwin, or Demers must be traded

Even if he did, it wouldn't be one of Braun, Irwin, or Demers first. It would be Boyle. However, it's only been a single game and he needs to be better than what he was in that game because he had his share of mistakes. That's fine, of course, he is a rookie. But they'll need more than this to believe that they should move anyone.

Burish has some interesting raw attributes. He is an absolute torpedo, his closing speed when he decides to get on his horse is insane. He can't do a damn thing once he's there, and falls down a lot, but IMO he's a more powerful skater than Mitchell was. Same stone hands though.

He's a fantastic skater, but it's literally the only thing he can do.

Tenny has a great mix of size and skating ability. Now someone just needs to teach him to play D. He was real passive at times he needed to be more aggressive and lost his guy a few times. It does look like he can pass well enough though. There is some good potential there but he needs some coaching.

just wait until liberties are taken on Cooch...and nobody immediately steps up. WE have seen it before with this team and with Clowe gone, mark my words, teams will notice Clowes absence and take liberties..

This team just got softer...why do you think other teams want him?

i agree i have been one of the few against trading clowe unless its crazy overpayment... but seems like he is going to be gone...

The Canucks didn't do anything and they would be one of the most likely team to do it. Does Chicago have a tough guy patrolling to make sure no one hits Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Seabrook, or Keith? Nope.

Tough guys are overrated. If something must be done Sheppard, Burns, Stuart, Boyle, Burish, Jumbo, Desi, and Wingels can do something.

I'm more displeased with the length of the contract then the amount, although I also think 1.8 is over payment. But it wouldn't be so bad if was only for 2 years.

I agree. If it was a 2 year contract like Handzus', I could have lived with it. Since when do 4th liners get term?

And who better than Larry Robinson? :D

I don't know if Tennyson can keep it up or not, but the point is I believe one of either Irwin, Braun, or Demers would either be easily replaced by Tennyson or another or perhaps even upgraded during FA. The Sharks will have some space, time to invest.

Look into your hearts, you know its true

Why do they have to be replaced?

Roster spots. The Sharks need to upgrade their blueline. Especially now that it looks like they have committed to Burns being a forward. Boyle isn't getting any younger. They need to pick up at least one Defenseman probably two.

Tennyson is simply insurance in the AHL

Have you seen it this year? We haven't been physically dominated this year and as a whole, this team doesn't get put down by getting hit. Couture is growing up, I don't think I've seen him get beat down like he did last year and I only remember one game wear it was really blatant.

Burns will not play forward next season.

I'm not psychic, but let me put it to you this way. The fact that they called up Tennyson instead of putting Burns at D kind of is a clue as to where the org feels Burns is the most valuable. Seems to me with the way the league has gone Burns helps the breakout more as a forward and being a forward still allows him to use his wrister.

It possible that as a forward burns might get around 70 points with 25 goals. Leave him there. Oh and he is great on the forecheck too
