Ottawa isn’t generating anything that isn’t being handed to them by an unforced giveaway.
Basically

Anything they have had (no high dangers) have been given to them.

When we learn to sometimes play absolute boring AF low event hockey, we won't a** clench a lot

This team needs to play a period before they remember how to execute basic plays. Least they came out of this one ahead.

Oilers basically dominated the first period while barely able to complete an unhurried 5 foot pass without putting it 2 feet off the mark.

Ullmark must be playing utterly amazing the last few weeks because the Sens look like a terrible possession team, especially on retrievals and breakouts.

Both these teams played yesterday though, so we'll see what they look like when they're more settled in.

Sens played in Van last night, flew here and lost an hour overnight
Makes sense they would be sluggish

For some reason I could see J Skinner getting traded to Boston.
he's gotta agree to it. It's possible, he does not look like a fit here. I liked the signing at the time, but really hadn't seen much of Skinner play, other than highlights. Playing on losing teams for his whole career has probably left him with some bad habits. Maybe it clicks over the next couple months and he realizes what he needs to do to play here, I guess only time will tell.

I think this is a bit unfair. Ottawa is above league average in most possession and shot metrics. It's just that the Oilers are at worst a top 3 possession team in the league and like you said, both teams played yesterday so they might be even more gassed than us.

At the beginning of the year when the whole team forgot the season had started, he seemed like the only one trying make things happen. I thought he'd get rewarded with some decent icetime/linemates, but KK had other ideas.
