you’re kidding right? They had 7 shots in 2 periods. That’s like me saying. I easily could have been a rockstar if things developed differently

they were horrific

They have like 11 shots in 2 periods. But yeah they sucked. They were decent in the first despite only 6 shots, but not great offensively other than a few chances.

Miller hitting rookie wall resulted in him stopping doing a lot of good plays in transition and offensive zone.

Haven’t seen a post yet that Quinn is ruining Miller but I will give it 36 hours.
Miller’s play has definitely dipped, Fox and Lindgren pair are getting more minutes dumped on them as a result. But that’s not the sole reason for the poor transition game. They have to throw more rubber at the net. From the point and frankly from all over. They need to create some more rebound chances. Our face offs especially in the offensive zone continue to be horrible. That’s why Washington has no problem taking all those icing s at the end of the game. We are a threat to no one at the dot when it matters.

It's like they're coming into games with the mentality of trying to execute a swam lake choreography like they would at practice even though Ovie is trying to kick your ballerinas in the face. It's too technical and too "don't do this, don't do that".

Some coaches prep their teams for battle and get consistent results by showing up ready. Torts did that as well as anyone. Quinn preps his team for pop quizzes and to execute on what was covered in practice. This coaching staff needs to find another gear and some intensity and looseness.

I understand that the coach/management want the young players to learn to "play the right way". But at the same time, should we not take advantage of the speed and energy young players have?

We wanted a younger team. Main reason for rebuilding back then. Which means less experience.
Most of our team is close to their prime. 23-30 yo. Has the lottery win last year and Millers emergence changed the approach to how we play?

nobody plays Thursday night Saturday afternoon Sunday afternoon and then Tuesday night. That’s just ridiculous
Were there not times we rode Hank like this?

We didn’t deserve to win that game, but it just sucks that we would’ve gotten a point and maybe 2 if our goalie could have just come up with at least 2 saves in the 3rd period.

Oh, so now it’s only the second period. You literally said the team did nothing for 50 min which includes first, right? So I will ask you again if you slept through the first.

I thought they had an okay first. Kind of was like two boxers feeling each other out for a little while. Kaapo blew yet another opportunity as he stick handles with that move that he has, instead of keeping it simple & just going to a forehand, backhand shot. Too many fakes and it gets the goalie right back into position.
He admitted it himself, that he likes to make highlight real goals. It just seems that he wants to fake the goalie out so badly, trying to make him look stupid, that he ends up not scoring because of it. That's just what I see.

Overall I was pretty proud that they came back like they did, Pretty sure Washington thought the game was over when they scored their fifth goal and we took it to them. Great that Laffy got his goal maybe that'll propel him. This is just another stepping stone for them. learning how to come back and and win a game, (only they didn't this time) Like I remember them coming back from three goal deficits many times last year. This team needs to do it the same kind of way. Once they believe that they're never out of a game, it's going to make them more likely to win those games. Know what I mean?

you think I care about garbage time goals by Quadruple A players? This team plays completely different with Quinn.

So it's your contention that the vets and real NHLers hate Quinn, but the fringe players don't? Any evidence?

These same players like Knoblauch based on what? How they performed against the worst team in hockey and a team actually playing worse than that team?

People often state things as fact without proof. That's just the way it is.

Now, if you have some proof that the Rangers hate Quinn, I'd be interested in hearing it. I'm not saying it's a false assertion. I'm saying that assertions should be backed up with evidence.

Around here? Since when? (unless you’re talking about solid evidence such as “l sense...” or “If I read between the lines...”, etc)

Agreed. I think Igor definitely needs to get more starts going forward but I think there's a nice balance between playing more and playing 3 in 4 days immediately coming back from a groin injury. The bigger issue is that Georgiev has completely shit himself to the point where Kinkaid has to be considered for starts.
Igor practiced for almost two weeks before getting into the lineup. He is healthy and ready to play everyday. If not, he would still be sidelined. Quinn is an idiot. There is no chance of Igor wearing down this year; he has played too few games for that.

His last two games, he gave up 2 goals on 44 shots combined against Philly and the Caps. The decline may be largely overblown on this board.

quinn said he suspects a few guys were happy he was out

there’s some truth in every joke and the on ice performance supports it

no one said they hated AV either but we know many players did

Yes, Kakko has said that he's afraid to make mistakes when Quinn is watching, but doesn't this kind of disprove the invisible leash that a lot of people are claiming? He wouldn't try those dekes if Quinn told him not to do anything fancy. They were nice dekes, but he ran out of room.

Im not a quinn hater or hugger but the drop off in play by the top guys Panarin, Zib and Kreider from Sunday on was noticeable, maybe its coincidence, maybe not.

He just needs to trust his shot and get it off quicker. It looks like he's intimidated by the goalies, he just needs to blow it by them or create a rebound chance and stop looking for the perfect goal.

Yes, not trusting his shot is likely the reason why he went for the dekes. I wanted to focus on the claims about him being scared to make plays because of Quinn.
