The next month will tell us, are contenders for a WC spot, or just pretenders for the WC spot....
100% agreed. They definitely need to beat the likes of the Sabres, Wings, Jackets, Isles and those teams. But they also need to hang with and get points against the big dogs of the league. They can't go into those games making us feel like they already lost.
For some reason this group has some confidence now.............great to see.
They are a confident group. I calculate their hockey from the game they beat the Sabres 7-5 on Nov. 11th. That's exactly 6 weeks ago. In those 6 weeks, the Habs have played 16 games. They went 9-6-1 in those games, putting up 19 pts out of a possible 32. They're playing .594 hockey since that game.
And a few of those games where they lost, they played well. I'm thinking of their 3-0 loss to Minnesota. They're crushing 4-3 loss to the Rangers. And their 4-2 loss in Winnipeg.
I wanna see more Heineman and less Newhook in the top 6 !!
I'm good with him where he is. For one, because the line of Heineman - Evans - Armia is working real well as our 4th line. But also, Heineman's already established himself as an NHL'er. It's okay for him to stay where he is now. Eventually, he will earn to move up in the line-up. I don't think it needs to be now.
If they get 4 wins from that I'd be impressed
And a bunch of loser points along with that.
But my main thing is that even if they lose in regulation, I don't want them blown out of the buildings. I want them to really show that they won't go down without a fight.
