You will always have a few teams at the bottom because of rebuild, injuries etc. same goes for a couple of teams at top, but you look at the wild card race and it's crazy close. You look at the Eastern Division and the top team has 11 more pts. than the second wild card, that is crazy, and then look at the wild card and see how many teams are still contending for that. Same goes for the Western Division. If you don't think there is not parity in the NHL is your opinion, but in mine I think there is a great deal of parity. With as many teams in the NHL I don't think you can ask for anything more.
When will the parity be in our favor? Since all teams are so close, will it be luck/parity if we make the playoffs? If so, we are due, this is a year 5 make or miss under BA. Parity means a coin flip to get into the playoffs, we have come up tails a bunch of years in a row, time for us to land heads!

The last few months, teams are finding their footing/systems, I wouldn't pay too much attention to it, unless you are a top 5 or bottom 5 team, those teams are in or out. For everyone else, the next 3 months, January-March, will tell the tale, we all know it will get much tougher to win games. So, we shall see what our team does in that time frame, when it matters, these will be "meaningful games (BA quote for those interested)". I hope luck/parity plays out for us, for once, it will make our world class GM and coach look good too:)

One way or another this team looks completely different without all the injuries to our best d-men. Call it an excuse all you want but it is still a fact that it impacted the team and the standings (None of us would've been calling for trades to get more help on D if it was just an excuse.)

Bill Armstrong shouldn't be a scapegoat. Shit happens.

Firing BA this off season does one thing - gives credit for his success to the next guy when But & Simachev get here and everything starts to fall into place over the next season or two. (Unless the new guy starts cutting corners and making a bunch of Taylor Hall type trades to speed things up too much.) Some of you guys want him to make moves now that he shouldn't be making for another off-season or two, IMO.

I don't care how long the average rebuild takes. I'm looking at what's happening in Utah and what's on the way and what work still has to be done when the time is right because no two rebuilds are the same. I want it to be successful and long lasting more than I need it to happen fast.

Parity means every team has a chance at winning, its closer for playoffs but that isn't what parity means.

Whatever. Bettman calls it parity, so do I.
It's Bettman's job to sell hope to fans in Buffalo, SJ, Chicago, etc despite there being none presently. When 1/3 of your League has almost zero chance at playoffs and 3/4 has zero chance at winning the Cup where is the parity? Sure there is parity nightly in almost every game but reality is less than 1/4 of teams have a realistic chance at winning Cup.
