I mean Otter completely gave up. He was still on the far side post by the time the puck went into the net. Just absolutely pathetic performance by him. Single handedly lost us the game

Oettinger has been mid ever since he got the Team USA nod.

1)He was awful
2)Power play was awful and had the chance to put the game out of range
3)Top line invisible.

Oh and Minnesota was without their top 2 forwards.

Looking forward to hearing Deboer say "oh the break makes it very very hard for us". Loves his excuses

Dallas an extremely mid team this year. Nill waiting till post 4 nations could sink this team

I don't understand how this team can look good for most of the game at even-strength and then somehow always find a way to come up short

I was happy with our play through 40 mins (minus the PP). That Brodin goal really deflated this team

Also, I don't know that there is a trade that can be made to fix our scoring issues. We'd need to acquire an all-around star player, not just another top 6 guy. We need an Eichel. This team is not going to be a genuine contender until we get a player like that

How did everyone else see that wraparound coming from a mile away except for our goaltender? Watching the replay Otter just completely gives up once Faber goes behind the net

I was screaming at the TV, wondering what the hell he was doing. he just froze, staring off to the distance. Unbelievable.

Soft coaches, soft team, culture of mediocrity.

Randomly replying to this Otter bash post (could have been any of the others.....)but I take it none of you saw that Otters left leg was pinned between his own defenseman and the net, which is why he couldn't move?
Watched it like 20 times and not seeing that, sorry. He also dropped down like 3 seconds too soon to get him in that position in the first place.

Well, it sounds like you are well qualified to be an NHL ref! (no offense intended) It shows up better from behind the net. Unlike some here, I don't believe Jake is fat or lazy. He sometimes drops early or plays too deep in the net, but I take exception to the bleach bozos who somehow think any of these guys are trying or just don't care. I just don't see it.

I do agree that this team hasn't yet built the mental toughness that seemed to be a staple of the last two years. The Brodin goal shouldn't have undone the team. I mean, it's rare to pitch a shutout and they have let other teams get within a goal in the past, without folding.

Lacking some replacement for the talent they lost (Pavs, Seguin, Tanev, and now maybe Marchment) and it seems some of the swagger they had as well.
