I was trying to be super optimistic for a bit but we’re just not there yet even with some good fortune this year. More mediocre hockey we’ll have to endure. I pray these kids hit.

Kyrou has been fantastic this season. So much of the rest of the Blues need to take a page from him. They don't all have the speed and skill, but his drive this season has shown me a lot.
Yeah, I think he has done quite well this year. Doesn't change the fact that Defending still isn't his forte.

Finish .500 and draft 15th. Ughhh

His last home.
You mean Edmonton? He's never been with Toronto

Odd game. Kyrou looked extremely dynamic which is good. I think Thomas looked a bit off but wasn’t bad.

Tucker and Perunovich played a combined 20 minutes and still somehow got a minus 2 a piece. Not surprising. Although I can’t remember if the goal that Binnington probably should’ve had was one of the two.

Saad looks very disengaged when on the 4th line.

Not too upset about the loss. Tampa didn’t play great but neither did the blues

Honestly, #15 isn't a bad spot to be in this year.
Obviously; higher is always "better" in regards to the Draft, but there's going to be some good players still available at #15. The talent gap doesn't seem to start until the late 20's.

except none of the goals when perunovich and tucker were on the ice on them

We really need to stop trying to make Tucker a thing. He's clearly not NHL caliber at all. I mean I'm 40 and I think I could skate past him.

Binny needs to have that 3rd goal, but whatever. We desperately need someone outside our top 6 to start scoring. Since Monty took over (12 games now) we have 1 goal from a D-man in all situations and it was Parayko. Bolduc is the only player outside our top 6 (I consider Holloway in our top 6) to have scored at all. We are getting nothing from any of our D or our bottom 6 minus Bolduc. I know they aren't the best compliment of players, but they still need to find a way to score, we are giving a lot of them quite a bit of ice time.

I've heard the talent gap is very early this season like around pick #6

There seems to be a clear top 4(Hagens, Martone, Schaefer, Misa), then Frondell and McQueen as the second tier(Desnoyers might be making a case to join that group but I'm not sold yet); but after that the next real "drop" isn't until the mid to late 20's.

The guys in that third tier(which is what we're probably going to end up with) are what you'd consider your "average" 1st round type players(the Holloway/Neighbours types). I'm not sure I really see a "Robert Thomas" in that group just yet, but you're still talking about pretty solid potential NHL'ers all the way through that range(even in the 20-25 range there's a pretty good chance that Tretheway, Fiddler, O'Brien, Moore or Carbonneau could still be on the table; and those are NOT bad prospects by any stretch).

Like I said, obviously picking higher gives you a better pick of the liter but we'd have to make the WCF's or SCF's before I'd be worried about taking somebody from the next tier down. It's not like last year where there was a talent gap at #14 and we "just missed out" on taking somebody from the higher talent tier.

two terrible plays by wingers (toro and buch) and one either perfect shot or terrible save attempt leads to the three goals
other than that we have played well

peru and tucker are -2 and don’t deserve either minus
From what I saw Scotty P doesn't deserve it but Tucker sure as f*** deserves at least one.

Kevin Hart is a not-funny-at-all scumbag.
What did he do?

what did they do wrong?
1st goal was 1000% on buch casually gliding in the d-zone watching the puck instead of finding the man who was his defensive responsibility
2nd goal was either a perfect shot or 100% on binny

Tucker is responsible for the first goal. We didn't need 2 Dmen to double team one guy and leave another wide as f*** open.
2nd goal is IMO on walker for leaving a passing lane open cross ice. once again, do you think Parayko needed Walkers help to double team one dude while leaving another wide open? Also, even if you remove Walker from the scenario, you simple cannot blame a goalie when you allow a shot from that location from a wide open player.

3rd goal I think it was a great shot but Binny seemed to also be off his angle.
